Hey smurph

I just heard that McCain cant take Arnold Swarenegerr as a VP because he is not born in USA.

I thought he got over that hurdel to become Govenor.

I would vote for Arnold for President.

you don't need to be born in this country to be governor of a state but do need it for the vp position because that's a step away from the presidency...

Appears I'm not by myself--ironic that some here believe those who states residents are leaving in masses --somehow would produce hope and change nationally--must be the Tony Robbins syndrom.
--only sad thing is--you can't make these folks from top 3 liberal meca's NY Ca and Ill live with their conviction--they vote in these liberals then get the hell out of dodge when they see consequences :)

The Census Bureau measured domestic migration - people moving within the United States - from 1990 to 2000, and from 2000 to 2004. The report provides the number of people moving into and out of each state and the 25 largest metropolitan areas.

The states that attracted the most new residents: Florida, Arizona and Nevada. The states that lost the most: New York, California and Illinois.
Among the 25 largest metropolitan areas, 18 had more people move out than move in from 2000 to 2004. New York, Los Angeles and Chicago - the three biggest metropolitan areas - lost the most residents to domestic moves.

wonder how much "winter" plays into the program

baby boomers getting older may not be up to shoveling 4 mths out of the year

Dogs, you got anything on movement of income levels in the top 20 cities? From what I understand, Chicago has faired far better in the real estate crisis than most big cities. I distribute a high end product and I'm up 20% to last years numbers at this point. Money never sleeps, or worries about gas prices, yet.

and I would be the 1st to bolt this city if not for my little Mickey Mouse operation

the politics/taxes/thieves suck

If they "really' believe in global warming that element should be improving.

On the income factor--do you want cost of living in the equation or left out ;)

The misery index takes in all factors--I'll bring it back if you like.

Down town Chigo Land may be 4 bucks. Out in Harvard a sub of Chigo it was $3.89.
I don't like it any better then you I have $3.87 here. But you know I'll park that dam auto if I have to. But what really ticks me off is cost of everything else going up from 20 to 35 percent. People still need to eat and see there doc. This country 8 years ago a family of 4 or 5 good live decent on 50000. What happened. Were they BUSHED.

Truth In Politics: Illinois Gas Prices And Taxes
Reporting
Mike Flannery CHICAGO (CBS) ― Tired of seeing the price at the pump jump every time you need to buy gasoline? Well, the record-high price of gasoline in the Chicago area is linked to a record-high rate of taxation: nearly 20 percent of the Chicago price.
As CBS 2 Political Editor Mike Flannery reports, tax refugees wait in long lines on Indianapolis Boulevard in Northwest Indiana. They jockey for position at a pump, lured by prices that are 20 cents a gallon or more cheaper than just a few blocks away back in Illinois.

"It was $4.20. I can come over here and get it for $3.93," said Tikvah Wadley, one of the many fleeing Illinois taxes.

Illinois Sen. Dick Durbin complained to oil company bosses at a hearing on Capitol Hill about Chicago having the highest gasoline prices in the United States. Largely ignored was the role taxes are playing -- an astounding 10 levels of taxation.

"Does it trouble any of you when you see what you're doing to us?" Durbin asked..

In the city, Motor Fuel Taxes originally for building roads currently go to the Feds, Illinois, Cook County and Chicago. The 9.25 percent sales tax is split among Illinois, Chicago and Cook County's share of the state sales tax; a county home rule tax; RTA transit tax and a Chicago home rule levy.

The watchdog Civic Federation says that on a $4 gallon of gas, the total tax is 79.2 cents. That compares to 77 cents in Los Angeles and 65 cents in New York City.

"Every time the price of gas goes up, the tax goes up with it," said one motorist.

And that, of course, is exactly the point for the politicians. Gov. Blagojevich, for example, is counting on the high price of gasoline to bring at least an extra $220 million in the State Treasury in the fiscal year that begins this July. Most of that will be used to balance the way-out-of-balance budget.

WTF is supposed to be "sinking in"? Tell me whatever you want about the price of gas in Chicago - I will still chose it to live over anywhere in Kentucky. My answer is final - NO, I WILL NOT MOVE IN WITH YOU.

You're nuts for this reason too. Some of the hottest wenches in America, with great sexy accents, can be found around Ashland and Grayson.

I drive a hybrid, so chances are I would make through the entire state without needing gas. ...Might need to use the restroom or something though.
