YTD: 6-3

Buffalo -2 vs Youngstown St.

Very tempted to take Akron+12' at Dayton but I need to do more leg work before pulling the trigger. The Zips are much more athletic and can mach up against anybody on the defensive end, big or small.

FCP, I dont know much about Dayton this year as I havent got into my full fledged research mode for CBB yet but 12- seems like an awful lot against an experienced Zips team.

I know Dayton had a nice team last year but did they lose anything to graduation?

One more thing I wanted to ask ya, has it really been four years that Hitchens was at Akron or did something happen I dont know about and he isnt playing?

And only 5 total points scored in the OT. What a way to hit the under!!:toast:

Yeah... after they missed the front end w/3sec left I thought we were cooked. I guess we still woulda pushed w/2xOT :142smilie

Anyway, great call FCP. Thank you!

Dayton fan here. The Flyers lost 5 seniors, but return Chris Wright, who opted out of NBA draft, double-double machine Chris Johnson and Top 15 ranked freshman PG Juwan Staten.

While they lost 3 seniors who were key defensive players, they definitely are much more potent offensively.

They haven't necessarily smoked their opponents in their first two exhibition games (DII schools Findlay and Grand Valley St). I imagine a closer game with Akron, who took them to 2OT last time they met.

If I were to jump on it tonight, I'd be taking the points.

Hey Outkast

Dayton got hammered by graduation. Their best player, Wright is still around and has a talented bunch moving in. I just think that the early season should be more of a transitional period for the Flyers.

I love what I have seen of the Zips so far but it's tough to gauge how good they are based on the two teams they have played.

Zeke has put on 15 lb. and looks way more comfortable on the floor. He has developed a jump hook that is killer. Mc Nees and Roberts will be solid at guard and Nik and Brett Mcknight are back as well. I am probably more excited about the new bodies more than anything.

Abreu is a true point and is very quick. he seems to grasping Keith's system well. I look for him to get many minutes right from the get-go.

Egner, from Jackson looks to be very solid as well. He can really get up and make plays but has some bodies in front of him ans may not see too much action early. Keith is already comparing him to Romeo which is high praise.

Diggs looks great as well. He transfered in from N Orleans and is a good swing guy at either the two or three. He's fast and has some good hops himself.

Not sure if this will be Akron's year as the team needs to gel a bit but next year will be awesome.

Ref: Humpty,

I had a chance to sit down with Hump late in last years season and it was pretty evident to me that he would be moving on. He sure didn't have a whole lot of nice things to say about coach. Our tickets were right behind the bench so we saw several occasions when he really lost his cool with both his teamates and coaches. It was clear that Keith and Humpty just rubbed each other the wrong way so I think it was a mutually agreed upon decision that they part ways. He got an exemption from the NCAA so he didn't have to sit a year and is playing for James Madison. He has two years left.

2H play Oral Bobs +5

I love it when an overtime doesn't beat an under play ! I wonder how much longer SIU will stick with Chris Lowerey ? The guy just doesn't have it. The first thing he needed to tell his kids was WE CAN'T CALL A TO. What a poor way to lose a game.

Thats a fair take, Gregory is a fine coach. He reminds me of Dambrot as a defense first guy and should be able to get them playing well fairly quickly. I just really think that this is the time to catch Dayton on their schedule. I attended the last two Akron / Dayton games and both could have went either way

Thanks Clem, i respect the obvious ground work that you have put into the season. It's great to see you posting with regularity again.

Getting greedy but adding some more. Small half unit plays for me.

Buffalo/ YSU over 134'

VCU/ WF under 146

GW +2 vs. BU don't get this line at all. Gw has a nice back court and some size down low. They have also won the last 8 in this series.

Gw/ Bu under 137'

Thanks,

After a great start the day has not gone as well as I would have liked.

Watching the Zips and Dayton and it's been bad for Akron. Giving up crucial rebounds and getting beat going for loose balls. I need to cut bait here.

2H Dayton -3'
