Clint Hurdle is a freakin' moron?that's about all I have to say about the Rockies game?this team will never make the playoffs with him at the Helm.
Day was a total waste for me. It was due to happen.
Phillies are Cards are system picks for Tuesday but both are kinda expensive and neither terribly appeals to me after my downward movement on Monday. Cards, obviously by my calls, look to be the better option; Wainwright has been pretty solid, all season, and Barone hasn't shown much in his first two '07 starts. Phillies call is greatly a Tomko fade as Kendrick has been only mediocre in 2 of his past 4 starts (the other 2 were pretty solid); Phillies hitting pretty good, especially at home, and should have a field day with Tomko, who's had 2 shitty and 2 mediocre starts over his past 4.
Also thinking about the Padres, Rockies, Brewers, Giants, Jays, Indians, Bosox and Royals; plays on these, if any, would be small.
That Shea total looks worth a shot?should be gold if Maine can get his shit together (3 poor starts in a row since his last pair of beauties); even is Maine is only mediocre that might be enough as the Padres sticks continue to be a joke. Comerica total looks iffy as Jurrjens is a bit of an X-factor there, plus we've got two of the most potent offenses in MLB going at it. That US Cellular total might be the best of the 3 as Nunez has some pretty wicked stuff and the Royals bullpen (which they'll need as Nunez doesn't often go deep) has been pretty good, especially lately; Vazquez should do his part to help that one, too. Also thinking about the Minute Maid game under 8.5 (would go at a 9); Wandy's great work at home and yesterday's result (Astros have actually scored under 4 for 5 straight games, now) has me interested; 8.5 is too low, really, for Minute Maid and Hanrahan is no lock to make any future All-Star games, plus ump Joyce has a very low K% this season, through his first 24 games (12-12 on the total; he's been "even" in previous years); still, Wandy actually tossed a decent game on the road and has been superb at home PLUS the Astros are in a funk at the plate; I dunno?confidence level took a hit with yesterday's results?freakin' Yanks coulda at least won in extras?
Will post what's played. Go ahead and fade.
