fabulous:
take what you saw from colon in one season last year. multiply it by 5 or 6. and then youll see what i saw for half a decade and why the indians were so frustrated by his inconsistency. when hes on, he is a hands down legit #1. hes had some games where hes been absolutely untouchable. almost threw a no-hitter vs the yankees in new york, had some dominant divisional series outings. but he just never developed the mentality of 'im taking the mound today to dominate and theres nothing you can do about it'. like you said, he has a tendency to overthrow. and when he does, his fastball (even though its 98) straightens out and loses the movement. maybe he turns the corner in anaheim? but to me, hes one of those players that plays one notch below his potential. his 'average' is better then most guys 'best', but still should get more out of himself. he's gone toe to toe with pedro and outpitched him a few times. then he'll go and lose to a #5 starter that just got called up
