WOW, don't even get me started with some of the comments in this thread....Davis WILL coach IU next year!!! I don't know if it is public knowledge yet, but IU has lost Womens Basketball Coach as of today (Cathy Bennett). The athletic director will have his hands full trying to find her replacement....BUT even without that distraction, Mike Davis WILL be back as IU's head coach next year, and I am damn happy for it!!!! Cut the man some slack! I could go on for days but wont do to times sake....but briefly; His recruits Robert Rothbart (who up until the last minute was thought to be a done deal to come to IU this year) SCREWED HIM!!! Josh Smith (everyone knew he wouldn't come over the NBA). BUT could you imagine this YOUNG team with those two guys. IU gave some big time programs real tough times this year (North Carolina, UCONN on the road, and they did it with a team mostly made of FR and SO with a couple of JR all who will be back next year! BUT most importantly the ones that he did get (Vaden, White-arguably the top freshman in the whole conference and will be on many freshman all american teams), Ratliff, Hardy, 6-10 230lb Lucas Steijn, to go with two outstanding transfers from Auburn in 6-5 215 lb Marco Killingsworth and 6-5 G/F Lewis Monroe, both who started and led Auburn in most statistics last year will join the youth and one of the better recruiting classes in the nation coming in AGAIN next year.

As far as this team being as bad as a couple of the comments in this thread, CHECK AGAIN and when you do take in account that its being done with YOUTH, which has to say something for the COACH!!!!

I'll help you out a little bit,

AFTER loses to #2 North Carolina by 7 (game was very close throughout), #15 UCONN by 5, on the road (game was very close right up until the end, IU led by 5 at the half), Notre Dame (who gets up for what the consider their biggest inter state rival every time, @#3 Kentucky, @Mizzou (who has beaten some damn good teams at home, #18 Charlotte by 1......THEY HAVE GONE 12-5!!!! IN THIS RUN THEY HAVE WON 3 STRAIGHT AND 5 OF THE LAST 7 (one being at #1 Illinois which 27 other teams have done no matter where the game was being played)....They have also beaten #10 at the time Mich State and now #23 Wisky (who was ranked much higher when they beat them).

Finally, their opponets this year are 212-81 and three of those are currently ranked #1, #2, and #3 (Illinois, North Carolina and Kentucky).

All I am asking, is that if you want to throw out comments about coaches/teams sucking, do a little homework before doing so. TRUE, I am very passionate about IU all together! And they have dissappointed me many times over the years, but this particular is very young with several new coaches on the staff, who have faced a very difficult schedule early and have a coach who works his ass off to get them to learn, believe and execute his system....If your an IU fan, I ask for you too to believe, understand and be patient as you I am confident we will all be very happy as soon as next year! I already am with what they have done with this youth, THIS YEAR!!!!

GL to all,

You the man coutinguy!!!!

I certainly respect your passion and intensity for your team but trust me bub I was an IU fan from 1978-Mike Davis who cant even put together a sentence. I have attended at least 100 or more games, played golf with Coach Knight, ex players and alumni. IU is a JOKE right now and so is Mike Davis. I hope he stays so I can watch this crock of chit this school(sports wise) has become since Knight left continue.
