Alright I'm going to play devil's advocate --- the Twins go out of the first round every year - they have not shown any signs of being able to win in the playoffs. No one can argue that the Yankee lineup is far superior to the the Twins, and I don't think the Twins staff is better than the Yankees either. Santana is the best pitcher of them all, but after that it really evens out to me. Is Radke on the road better or worse than Lieber at home? I think that's a toss up. Same goes for Brown vs Silva and Vasquez vs Lohse. Finally Yanks are 21-3 last 24 vs the Twins. And of course the Yankees bullpen is pretty solid for innings 8 and 9. If the Twins needed 24 games to get 3 wins vs the Yanks over that span, what makes you think they can get 3 wins over five games?
Not attacking your play -- but just wanted to answer your question in the subject title. I think it's becoming chic to bash the Yankee staff, which is justified, but I do not think the Twins are the team that are capable of knocking them off the mountain.
