Huge props to Cote........what a great effort....he even lasted round two on one leg. Anderson is damn good, but Cote showed that you can hang with him.....way to go Cote well done. And as usual Bucs has no clue what the fuck he's talking about. Cote put forth a great effort anybody that didn't see that is a friggen moron. Silva was the better fighter, but Cote deserved to be there that is for damn sure.

Keep in mind Bucs still thinks GSP sucks...so what does that tell ya.

Santos at 6-1.....sweetness baby...wooo hoo:)

And GSP ain't gonna fight Alves, he will beat Penn and then the superfight of Silva and GSP will take place. And that will make the Couture/Lesner PPV look like pennies.

Looks like lots of guys did well tonight.....the 6-1 underdog, Sell and the parlay hit for me so I am a happy camper.:)

And GW.....you are correct Pride was exposed a long time ago, so many Pride dudes have been smoked in the UFC. Oh and Werdum getting smoked does nothing for Vera :142smilie

Weepaul....I know you had like 900K on Kos, and yes we were both wrong on that fight. But there is a positive, never a bad thing to see Kos lose.

Way to go Cote......great heart, great effort. Not many in ANY weight class that could go 3 rounds with Anderson. And that fight would have gone to a decision (Anderson would have won) Cote was not going to go down.

Bottom line nobody will beat GSP and Anderson.....they will fight each other, the top 2 guys in all of MMA are Silva and GSP, they'll never lose....they have to fight each other....and they will.

Good PPV, lots of good fights, except for the Maynard fight.....that didn't go well. But with only one bad fight that ain't all bad:)

Find a post where I've ever said GSP sucks. I have always given the guy credit and said he's good. I just don't like him. It's no different then any other sport where teams or fighters are good, and someone doesn't like that team or fighter. That doesn't mean they think the fighter or team isn't any good.

I have no clue what I'm talking about:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

I've been watching this sport a long time. I think I can hold my own when it comes to it.

Do I think Silva danced, pranced, and played around? Yes, but anyone can go back and watch and see that whenever there were exchanges, Anderson was on top of EVERY one.

I honestly can't remember 1 shot that Cote landed.

it's not about "heart" or willingness to fight, that's not what im talking about, and presumably, not what bucs is talking about. pretty much nothing happened. cote never got near him, the only notable power shots landed were by silva.

there's no moral victory in cote being able to hang around while silva practices his michael jackson routine. the point is it wasnt a competitive fight. we can praise cote for coming forward, but in terms of damage done, and betting victories, that's nothing to boast about.

Sorry I didn't get a chance to reply to you, again! I was at some friends playing poker, watching the OSU game and the PPV.

Nice call on Santos. Werdum almost landed a KTFO punch that slightly missed, and he payed for it.

So now were handing out moral victories? :mj07: Bottom line is Cote is paid to go in there and fight, he did that, and he got picked apart for 2 rounds, doing ZERO damage, he was a bonified sparring partner last night.

If Cote was a "sparring partner" what were James Irvin, Dan Henderson, Rich Franklin, Nate Marquardt, Travis Lutter, and Chris Leben:shrug:

Not sure what fight you were watching...but Cote was the one moving forward....he wasn't just running away and "trying to last". The guy got caught with some shots and stayed standing. I mean what the hell did ya want him to do? Cote deserved to be there and I for one was happy with the fight. I mean it is Anderson Silva for fucks sake, he and GSP are the best in the world, I mean what the hell did ya want Cote to do?

Look i'm not trying to disparage the guy. He went in there and did all he could do, which was basically just show off his iron chin. The fight sucked, it was completive non competive, Silva was just toying with him and not even taking the fight seriously. And my issue is with the UFC for making that fight. Please, please, please don't rematch these two.

Cote did well? Did he? Sure he lasted 3 rounds.. but he didn't land one effective strike. He hit anderson with a couple leg kicks but besides that nothing. He was confused and lost out there. I know you are from Canada and all, but Cote did zero damage to Anderson. The point of a fight is to hit and not be hit, and thats what Silva did. Sure he wasn't as aggressive as in previous fights, but he still won the first 2 rounds EASILY.

Bingo. Cote showed poor footwork and wild strikes. He did show a tough chin, but big deal. I pray theres no rematch here. Silva looked uninterested with this guy.

They need to just make him fight at 205... I don't think he really wants to down deep. None of these middleweights can hang with him. If they feed him GSP it will not be pretty.... :142smilie

GSP will take him down to the mat. Hes had problems with wrestlers (Dan Henderson, Lutter). Thing is he will probably eat a few knees when he shoots on Anderson. If it stays standing he will finish GSP.

If Cote was my fighter i would have been proud of him. Nobody in the world could have done anything with the way Silva fought. Bucks you act like he got destroyed but at no time was he even ever hurt except when the leg gave out. He took one big knee and that was it and he walked right thru it. The punch to the face they showed ten times didn't hurt him a lick. Maybe since you saw that video ten times you think they were ten separate punches. :mj07: He charge all night and silva moved from side to side. A guy with Silva speed everyone would look bad. At no time did Cote run or ball up like Nate Marquat. He came to fight a better fighter and that better fighter fought a fight that was almost embarrassing.

There is nobody I hate more than Kos but I have to say that has totally changed. He took some big time blows and kept coming. He won my respect with his loss. To take a fight like that with 2 weeks notice requires big balls.

Alves vs GSP has big fight written all over it. The only question is, will Alves roid use cause him to not be able to make 170 at some point.

Kick, I love GSP(not as much as you) but he doesn't want any part of the Spider. Anderson would make him look very bad. I don't know many guys at this point that can hang with Anderson, I know it won't happen but I would love to see Wandy against him. I don't think Wandy would win but his style would make for an awesome fight.

I'm finally back from Galveston so I can be part of the MMA crew again.

I've changed my thinking for the next UFC event. I think Randy will win, I think he'll submit Brock. I know he doesn't submit people but I really think a triangle is how he will get Brock.

Overall a pretty exciting night of fights last night......'cept for Clementi/Maynard..

Sherk and Alves.. lookin good. :yup

To those who said Cote didnt land any shots.. rewatch the first round.. :SIB Did he have a chance of winning the fight? Not on the feet, but who gives a shit..... there were three rounds left to fight and who knows wtf was gonna happen..? Silly to even talk about it. Besides, get over it cuz there will be a rematch at some point.

+ 2.9 Ginas on the night.. :)

Raw is bang on.......you go Raw...you go:)

I'm not sure what fight Bucs and Joz saw...maybe they had some alternate feed or something:shrug:

Then again Bucs sees every fight different then me.

And look what Dana had to say.......

"Silva bore much of the responsibility for inaction."

When the head dude who buttfucks Anderson every night says this that should tell you something.

Joz and Bucs should be upset with Silva NOT Cote...I myself had no problem with the fight, but if anybody deserves any critisism it is SILVA not COTE.

Cote deserves another shot and I hope he gets it....how anyone could bash Cote is beyond me...what fight were you guys watching:shrug:

Another quote from White with regards to Silva:

?His corner guys were all lined up in that front row and they were screaming at him,? White said. ?Screaming at him.?

Cote WAS NOT the problem in that fight.....I'll say this again...WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU WANT HIM TO DO:shrug:

I can't wait for the rematch.......

you guys still arent getting it. this isnt a fan forum. i personally dont care at all about cote or silva really, thats not the point. i dont care abotu why the fight sucked or who is proud of what.

its about the bets. it was boring yes, but at no point did silva -600 look to be in danger. cote + 1 zillion wasnt going to win. cote has a moral victory in going 3 rounds, but there's no payouts for moral victories. a rematch would be pointless, anyone who bets cote will be donating to the books' christmas party. cote can pat himself on the back for making it to round 3, but it amounts to nothing. anything could have happened for those final 3 rounds, but again, thats rhetoric, with no basis. the cote bet never looked like a possible winner, the silva bet never looked like a possible loser. a rematch would be meaningless.

Dana would be stupid to put Cote in a rematch. Anderson said he is only fighting 5 more times. Why waste him with this bum? Put him up with some of the big names in the 205 division, or GSP. The only people who care to see Cote are Canadians.

I think I might have a new rule as well.....

Never bet on a guy you can't stand. I don't hate Kos as much as I hate Hughes, Aoki, or that huge asshole Diego Sanchez, but when you bet on a guy ya can't stand it is hard to cheer for him. I do give Kos credit for taking fight on 2 weeks notice and he did take a lot of shots and hung in there. But man that guy is a prick, I was kinda glad to see him lose, but losing money sucks. Good thing that huge dog Santos won. Dana White's blog sold me on that guy....thanks Dana:)

And no worries weepaul ya still have like 14 million...so all good:)

As for Silva......the only guy that can beat him that doesn't weigh more then him is GSP. That's pretty much it.

I suppose you could say Yushin Okami, Gegard Mousasi, Matt Lindland, Michael Bisping, Denis Kang, Thales Leites, or Chael Sonnen have a shot. But really the only guy that would beat him is GSP.

As I said.....after GSP beats Penn......the superfight between GSP and Anderson will happen. Who fights Anderson before that? I'd say Bisping....but as stated....does it really matter? Although I would like to see Mousasi or Leites fight him, that would be interesting.

GSP vs. Anderson......what an unbelievable fight that would be.....that bad boy would hit 1.5 million PPV's easily.....holy crap:scared
