plays...

plays...

trying to decide whether i still want to take Griffin or not.

currently i have the following:

Cote (+650)..... .4 Ginas

Sell (+180)..... 2.5 Ginas

- Sell's first fight at 170 after losing three in a row.
- Had good hands at 185 and has cut out the binge eating/drinking that werent a problem when he was at middleweight.
- Has been training for 6 months solid and is better at everything than Burkman, except maybe wrestling... Burkman still not a very good wrestler IMO.
- Sell's major weakness is his chin and Burkman hasnt had a TKO in three years.

McFedries (+350)..... .2 Ginas

- value play... in my mind, McFedries has to KO Leites in the first part of rd 1 to win this fight. Leites has very good takedowns and BJJ and if it hits the ground McFedries may as well tapout; Drew is Terrible on the ground with a capital T.

Gina Carano becoming emotionally attached to rawli after spending the day with him Saturday..... priceless. :)

-13.36 Ginas since 6/21/08.........

And no worries 1837......weepaul has like a 98 million bankroll, he'll change any line:142smilie

I set the lines for all the books....and weepaul changes them with his Bill Gates bankrollkurby

My bets this week are all medium.

Cote to beat Silva. He has a rock for a chin and punches hard. I don't get the guys who are saying Silva has NO CHANCE to KO Cote. Have we forgot about the Leben fight? Leben also has a rock for a chin but Silva has a jack hammer for fists and legs.

Kos to beat Alves. The only chance Alves has, is to land a knee.

Clementi to beat Maynard. Gray is a one trick pony. Clementi is the better all round fighter.

Good luck all.

Silva has a good chance to KO anyone in a 5-rounder, but I do think it will take him at least a couple rounds to put Cote in danger.. Just my take.... style-wise Anderson should murder Cote, but sounds like we all agree the odds are tasty.

Weepaul, what a medium play for u? 150 grand?

I think medium is somewhere around 155-160 grand:142smilie

And judging from the line movement it looks like we are not the only ones on Cote....line has gone down big time in last couple days.

Did I mention Clementi is a great play.....umm yeah I think I did:)

Here a Silva/Cote writeup by Jesse Holland of mmamania.com:

Anderson ?The Spider? Silva (22-4) vs. Patrick ?The Predator? Cote (13-4)

Like most underdogs, Cote plans to shock the world. Unless he decides to circle the globe using nothing more than electrical outlets like Horace Pinker, the only shock will come from the defibrillator that?s used to restart his heart after Silva demolishes him. To be fair, Cote has definitely earned this opportunity by going 7-1 with six stoppages after suffering back-to-back losses to Joe Doerksen and Chris Leben in 2005. His performance against Ricardo Almeida at UFC 86 was nothing to write home about, but Cote knows how to hit hard and has a competent submission game. But the question is: What can Cote do against Silva that Franklin and Henderson couldn?t? That?s my biggest concern going into this fight. Better than Cote have tried to figure out Silva and failed ? and failed miserably. There is really no place Cote can go where he?s not at a distinct disadvantage. Forget about trying to be elusive ? Silva hasn?t gone to the judges since outpointing Lee Murray back in 2004. There isn?t much to say about ?The Spider? that we don?t already know. He is without a doubt one of if not THE best fighter in the world and his striking is without flaw. Watching someone of his ability compete in his prime is a special thing. Enjoy it while it lasts because Silva wants to call it quits in 2009.

Keys to victory:

Silva: Show up.

Cote: Henderson and Lutter were able to give Silva a lot of trouble on the ground. Unfortunately, Henderson and Lutter also ended up getting submitted. Picadors stab a mound of muscle on a bull?s neck prior to engaging the vicious beast. Perhaps ?The Predator? can send GSP over to Silva?s locker room to help soften him up.

Prediction: Silva by technical knockout

:mj07: :mj07: :mj07:

"Keys to victory for Silva: Show up" :142smilie

If you watch this video closely you can see Cote say hi to kickserv....he's ready baby...he's ready:box2:

And I have been thinking of taking the huge, massive, gynormous underdog JUNIOR DOS SANTOS. After watching the video I might just take him:shrug: Will wait and see how the weigh-in goes.

(Santos has speed in those hands let me tell ya!)

Also......I would not want to be the poor people that have a board meeting in that conference room next week.......that will be one smelly conference room after this week:shocked:

Adding...

Adding...

1 Gina on Tyson Griffin at +200.

I think this fight is very even... i give Sherk a slight edge, but not as much as the books are giving him.

Sherk, although explosive, gets his takedowns stuffed pretty regularly against good wrestlers. Griffin trains every day with Gray Maynard, who is a better technical wrestler than Sherk, and just as strong or stronger IMO.

As we saw (or should i say didnt see :142smilie ) against BJ Penn, there is nothing to be made of Sherk's phantom boxing skills... He connected w/ 4 or 5 out of the three million punches he threw against BJ :mj07: And, as BJ showed, Sherk isnt exactly an elusive target.

Neither guy is known for finishing fights, but Griffin isnt the type to play dead and let Sherky rain down punches from his guard. Griffin does not spend too much time on his back.. this should frustrate Sherk. IMO he will get beat in the scrambles and on the feet.

I lurk at another sharp MMA forum. None of the accomplished cappers are giving Cote a chance. They're making huge plays at Silva -600.

Just saying.

To those interested, Cote is +600 at greek.

At the current lines, virtually all take Alves as the dog.

Changed my opinion on the Sean Sherk fight. The key to Griffin win is he stuff the takedowns, and if he does get taken down that he doesn't allow Sherk to lay and pray.

Not what you saw in that video, but what I saw was a guy who throws straight punches and had absolutely no movement to them.

Werdum is no clown on his feet. If Werdum takes Santos down, it'll be over quick. I don't see Werdum loosing either way.

Werdum should kill him.....clearly UFC is protecting Werdum (wait for Mir, Randy, Nog, and Lesner to play out), but sometimes that doesn't work. Werdum may be taking this fight lightly. May be worth a shot at the insane odds on Santos. Some crazy odds on this card that is for damn sure. Also, Santos is ok on the ground, and despite Werdum's improvement, his stand up game still pretty much sucks.
