I don't know if any of you other than Jack remember that I posted that somehow I had gotten a computer virus on my laptop and had it fixed by "geek squad". Now several weeks later it is official......................... My identity as well as all my accounts have been stolen and comprimised to the tune of close to $83,000.00. So as not ot confuse anyone, not all of that is my money. I inherited some money a couple years back and instead of blowing through it I added it to an existing account that my Mother had a significant amount of money in that was making more than I would have and we had tracked my balance carefully. I have so far had a home equity loan of more than $38,000 somehow taken out in my name, $12000.00 taken out on my revolving line of credit at my credit union which can be done on line, etfc.. The bad thing is that I do most all of my bill paying, banking, trading, and loans all off the same credit union website so once they got in they had everything. Or so I have been told. I have been on the phone for two days straight and have to do all sort of "dispute resolution" crap all my account numbers will have to be changed I have to prove I didn't buy any Swedish hand pump penis extender and alll that.

On a lighter side I am honestly thinking of changing my name legally to Johnny Longwood while I am at it:shrug:

Hope this helps my depression,
FDC

Man, that sucks FDC...hope things get worked out.

I had my bank account somehow drained from someone last year for over 3k and the bank got my funds back and the guy was arrested. They never would tell me who it was.

FDC, not sure who your Homeowners policy is with, but being the Agent that I am, I endorse Identity Theft Coverage onto ALL new policies I write. It's $25 a year for like $25,000 in coverage!

Get my email and call me if you have any questions. Hope you have it!

Hey brother, sorry to hear the news. Hope that everything gets resolved quickly and easily. These online scammers and thieves make me sick.

Haven't heard from BTJ in a long time... maybe he is behind all of this?

best of luck man, that just fawking sux's.

I hope they catch the son of a bitch(s)..

probably some ****er from geek squad...where you bring your computer to a 'reputable' computer store and this shit happens.

i'd sue those ****er at geek squad for 883,000.00 or for whatever I could get, I'd demand my computer back and get some 'independent' computer expert or bank expert to try to find out who did it....

Man, that just pisses me off...

Sucks FDC man, sucks....

Sucks FDC man, sucks....

I hope things start to go better for you!! That really sucks though, I hope they catch the guys that did it or you find some kind of insurance that you have on that money that you didn't know you had - I would definitely check this out very soon. Most banks are insured against this kind of crap and I had someone get my debit card # and go on a $2K spending spree about 7 years ago, and I filed a report with the police contacted the bank and got it all back. Good luck wiith everything!

As an IT guy, I know exactly how easy this is... stricter punsihments in the next 10 years... The government will have to...

sorry to hear about the problems.

go burn down the best buy store.

also - do you get to keep any miles or points from unauthorized charges on any credit/debit cards they ran up?

Damn, Cris. Good luck. This is terrible.

I hope your 'case' turns out better than a lot that i've heard about. Like 2-3 years before everything gets resolved with the various banks, mortgage companies, credit reporting companies, etc...

Again, hopefully yours won't go like this.

Best of luck, man.
