Ohio Gov John Kasich's prop 2 goes down by a margin of 2:1 as Ohioans spit in the faces of union busting Republicans. :toast:

You're next Scott Walker.

Proud of my fellow Ohio voters, both dems and republicans, who saw through the bullshit here. To take away the ability of the worker simply to negotiate was a slap in the face. The tactic to pit private against public workers failed by a huge margin.

Not a good day for Gov Scarface and the Koch bros.

If 45% of the vote is enough to get walker out you might be right.

I dont know if you paid attention but we had recall elections and the republicans came out on top. Things are going great in wisconsin

Only you, maggot, could be so stupid as to call a republican loss a victory. Two republicans were recalled, no Democrats were recalled.

Democrats: 2
Republicans: 0

46% of the registered voters in Ohio voted.

Unreal.

Over $50 million dollars spent by unions to kill Issue 2.

Interesting enough, I imagine the Ohio Congress will reintroduce some of these measures.

Again - less than half the registered voters in Ohio voted and we wonder what the hell is wrong in this country?

I don't think Walker will get recalled but I will bet $100 that he does not win the next election.

His disapproval rating is 53 - 59%

That may be true... but the beauty is, you can recall Walker, but you can't recall the legislation.

And it will be very difficult for the Dems to hold all 3 houses and get repeal.

It's a lot like Obamacare - the majority of the nation are against it, but it can't be repealed, as I don't see a perfect storm happening again when one party has 60 senate seats, the house, and the presidency.

That is pretty crazy. I wonder what the political party breakdown was of that 46%?

People that don't want taxes raised have no bitch when they do, if they didn't bother to get out and vote.

Props to the Dems/Unions here - they got out the vote on this issue - so they deserved to win for that reason alone (and really only that reason)

State funding to local municipalities in Ohio has already been cut.

It will probably be cut some more.

Ohio Pension fund is $38 BILLION in the red, 2nd worst in the nation, behind New Jersey.

So, when less state money flows into local coffers - jobs will be cut. Whose? Probably will start with firefighters.

Ooops.

Kasich was trying to union bust? Or was Kasich trying to give local munis the tools to manage their budgets, possibly without having to resort to layoffs?

The situation is unmanageable. $38 BILLION in the red for the state pension fund.......

....and state workers were being asked to contribute 10% towards it - I wonder how long that would have kept it solvent.

I imagine all the current or soon to be pensioneers will be wondering that when they find out their NO vote on Issue 2 was a NO vote on them getting their pension?
