Somewhere in Corn Country
song sucked thirty years ago, now it just takes a second to remember that it sucked for that long.

Hope that helps,
FDC

+1. Toss in Loverboy, Toto, Journey, Kansas and a few more and you have a roll call of terribly shitty 70s bands that still get played on insipid "classic" rock stations all over the country:facepalm:

so I guess the likes of

bands like Styx, Rush, Journey, Foreigner, REO Speedwagon, ZZ Top, and Aerosmith which were popular into the early 1980s

Bands such as Queen, Def Leppard, M?tley Cr?e, Bon Jovi, Quiet Riot, Europe, Ratt, Twisted Sister, Poison, Whitesnake, and Cinderella were among the most popular acts of the decade. The 1980s saw the emergence of wildly popular hard rock band Guns N' Roses

The 1980s saw the reinvention of Michael Jackson and the emergence of Madonna, who arguably were the most powerful musicians during the time

and then there is one of the greatest American songwriters ever..

Bruce Springsteen

Houston..Madonna..MJ..."THE BOSS"

not hardly a time period void of great musically composition and performance.

OS: When your argument for 80's music starts with Styx, Rush, Journey, and Foreigner....you have no argument.

There were some great bands that made music in the 80's, but a lot of the music (especially hair bands) that came from that period was horrific.

no doubt some hair bands were terrible ..:0008

when "The Boss" and Michael Jackson are your sidekick in the pickup truck with a healthy hot babe times couldn't be to bad..

I don't consider Journey and Foreigner trash hair bands and would guess many would consider them tight groups with a solid sound.

I will agree there were groups that sucked...:0008

I spent a lot of the 80's listening to Ellington..Coltrane ...Crusaders..Holiday..Basie..

I was fortunate enough to have a very good sax player teach me how to appreciate structure and compostion.

you can imagine my disgust of the so called composers and groups of the last 15 years or more.

On the course!
Music is music. There is no, "That sucks"..........There is just stuff you like and you don't.

Just like anything in life, some share the same interests, and some don't.
