Want to take the wife & kids (9,11,15) somewhere in the USA for a week.

We were going to Carlsbad but the bats are still in Mexico. So that won't work.

San Antonio ? Again ? but hotel rates are jacked because of Feista (whatever the hell that is).

Not a Theme Park because of the obvious reason.....
SPRING BREAK!!!

I'm thinking maybe Mount Rushmore & Deadwood.

Giants Redwoods in Cali or La Brea Tarpits?

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE HELPFUL

Gracias

lanny...

deadwood & mt. rushmore seem like a great vacation place to take your kids...

also if your kids (i think all boys ?) like westerns i would recommend taking them to tombstone (between phoenix & tucson). it's pretty cool to see the recreation of the gunfight at the ok corral & to walk along the streets of the old west.

another place i would consider would be the pacific northwest part of canada...i heard it's very beautiful & a lot to do.

Washington DC would be educational.

i don't know if you want to travel that far but d.c. is one of the most interesting places in this country...it's just a great place to visit...

also a good place on the east coast is gettysburgh.

you can knock of gettysburgh, the chocolate place (forgot the name) & visit the amish country all in one trip....& then you can head south to raymond's house....he can teach your kids how to cap (very educational)...

I think you would be talking about Hershey, Pa and no offense AR but beside a few monuments on the outskirts, Wash D.C. is a dump.......however since its for the kids, they might find it pretty cool, but i thought downtown was a rats nest, but they did have some spy museum that I wanted to go to, but never made time to do so
