Ok I am going to Vegas for the first time next Wednesday after my graduation on Friday :00hour . I am staying at the Flamingo for 4 nights. I know I am playing the Badlands one day and the Rivere another.

What else would you recommend for a first-timer/young guy?

Where is the best 1/2 nl and 2/5nl games? Where are the best tourneys?

Good sportsbooks?

Thanks

I've always liked the poker rooms at The Mirage and The Orleans.....Bellagio sportsbook to watch a game. If you need a break from playing, check out the dueling pianos bar at Harrahs, twin sisters (blonde and hot) play and take requests and is a lot of fun. Best of luck to you, first time out there is always a big blast!!

Mandalay Bay is the best sportsbook in my opinion.
Go downtown and see the light show, pretty cool.
I played poker at the Mirage seemed to be okay.
Definitely go to see a show.

good luck

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
Pool Party at the Hard Rock!

Pool Party at the Hard Rock!

HR has one of the few cool pool areas that admit non-guests. It's around $20 to get in. Only pool in town you see lotta young gals. The Rehab party on Sundays, with DJs and such (noon-7pm), gets pretty wild with the big partying crowds.

You'll have a blast. I was in Vegas at this exact same time last year and just to warn you, it will probably be hotter than the devil's asshole. Then again, it was 100 degrees every day when I was there and to me that is hotter than the devil's asshole.

Here's a piece of advice that a lot of people might not mention... keep in mind that with the heat you will get dehydrated VERY fast if you've been drinking. The first day I was out there I did a lot of walking outside and it was brutal because I had been taking advantage of the free drinks in the casinos. Gave me a headache that I can still feel to this day. Not saying don't drink, but try to limit your walking outside during the day and make sure you drink a lot of water.

You'll also come to hate those annoying a-holes that stand in front of the entrance of EVERY casino and try to get you to go to their timeshare property seminars. They will offer you all kinds of free comps, then later on drop the bomb that you have to waste half your day attending one of these seminars. Not worth it IMO.

Also, when you're walking around at night you'll be harassed by guys shoving those hooker/porn cards in your face every 3 feet. I'm not joking when I say every few feet. And they literally put them in your face. After about 5 minutes it really starts to piss you off.

As for food, the Augustus Cafe at Caesar's was awesome and very affordable. Typically $12-$15 a meal. There was also another very nice restaurant at the Venetian but I can't remember the name of that one. And the Venetian is a must-see. Enormous casino with lots to check out.

I didn't play a lot of poker but I wasn't impressed with the room at Caesar's. Decent, but not great.

If you're a fan of fake boobs, hang out at Bellagio. I think about 80% of the waitresses I saw there had ridiculously large fakers.

That's my Vegas novel. Have fun!

If walking alot, beer/water/beer/water/beer/water.

This is very good advice. If you're playing a table or sitting in a book, order a water with your drink at least every other alcoholic drink. Doesn't just keep your energy up; it helps fight hangovers so you can get back at it the next day.
