ugh...hungover. what's new, huh? ugh!

excuse the typos and format. i ain't going for an english test.

flight was on time, uneventful and we got here on time. ata from indianapolis. 3.5 hours.

cab to room, airport not busy, easy check-in. everything smooth.

had a lunch at the coffe house/ cafe, whatever. 12 bucks for a philly cheese steak. yea right, they never HAD a real philly cheese steak. ugh. LOL

we're at the mgm by the way. the room we have is the celebrity suite, so they call it. i upgraded from the thing party poker had for us. cost me an extra 200 a day but prob worth it. nice room.

the view aint much. as i look out now at 6am i see a little airport, a motel 6 and the mountains in the distance. no biggie, i aint gonne be here much anyway.

went to rio to register for the tourney around 4pm yesterday. got in taxi line behind some guy that noticed my shirt and asked me if i ever visited madjacks a lot? duh! everyday, man, where do you visit? oh, ** and **. nice to meet you degenerate gambler (his handle there). we shared a cab and went to register. nice guy. qualifies thru pp too.

cont....

freaking mile long line to register but it moved fast and i have my seat assignment and all. oh boy, i also got a voucher for 10 bucks off at the rio's buffet. they really treat the poker players well

i play friday, 11am, table 27, seat 9 :D

browsed the poker room. huge! never seen anything like it. tourney going on, satellites, cash games, etc. unbelievable. it was hot in there with all the people and everybody rushing around. a site to see. wow. i did see james woods. he acts like he owns the place, cocky, well dressed, sun glasses with 2 babes on his arms. pretty cool, i guess.

the wsop lifestyle show was neat too but i can do without the hawking in from every booth you pass by. there's some neat chit to see there but i saved that for my wife when we go over today. jesus fergeson (sp) had about 200 people in line waiting for his autograph. i'll pass

took a cab back to mgm from rio and stood in line for about 30 minutes in the direct sun. dry heat my ass. i think it was 150 out. holy shit. but, finally got here aroiund 630 and got ready for pp's reception party. wife was already ready and lookin nice.

the party was great. mike sexton greeted everybody as we filed in and shook hands. nice guy. i asked him where nolan was and he told me nolan was at rio's big party. nolan, i'll see you today. check your cell messages.

drinks flowed freely and the double jack and cokes were triples, i think. i had about 5 :D wife drank vodka and grapefruit. the food was top quality, lobster, shrimp, everything but i don't eat much when i'm drinking. everybody was raving about it. we sat with a couple from toronto and the guy gave me some poker lessons

met boundbook there and his little lady. nice people. we played some craps and bj after the party and split up around midnight when i got into some serious bj. i'll see you guys today. nice people.

i played until about 4am, got 2 hours sleep and here i type. won about 2 dimes. nice trip so far. my host here told me to eat, drink, have fun and call her when we leave for full comp. sounds good to me. im now planning on gourmet meals and the room upgrade to be comped.

i'll try to send a report every morning before i get rolling. that way everything is as fresh in my mind as can be and you'll know what's going on.

today i plan on going to the rio to play some cash games, visit the lifestyle show, meet nolan or 4bubba and get familiar with the place so i can be ready to play tomorrow.

thanks for listening.

las vegas, baby. nothing like it :D

fletcher, return my calls.

talk tommorw, folks.

well got the call just now hope you wrote cell number down right :D he was a happy camper between no sleep and i would say a few drinks he was laughing the whole time like he was on laughing gas. Phone cut out both times hard to use in casinos unless close to outside door.

will call you later and leave message for tonight because cell will never work inside rio for more then 20 secs so just let it go to voice mail when you see my number and call when you get back to mgm.

Yeah Eric, the days of him wearing jeans to the beach and to the golf course are long gone. Well, not 'long' gone, but gone. Thank God.

wow jennifier harman got knocked out w/pocket queens and then flopped a boat, and lost to a runner runner straight flush!!! FCUK I WOULD HAVE BEEN PISSED!!!!!!!!

that report is wrong. she raised early with QQ 3x the big blind. a standard raise. the guy in BB calls with 8-9 suited with big stacks which is a standard call with deep stacks playing 25/50 blinds. flop came 10 J Q with QJ of diamonds. He flopped the best hand. She was a dog to win the hand on the flop. Turn came the 10 of diamonds completing his straight flush and filling her up. of course all the chips went in. neither player did anything wrong or out of the ordinary, just bad luck for her. that hand didn't knock her out, just cripple her.... she got knocked out shortly after that though

K-9????

The following hand caused a stir on the tournament floor:

The button raised to $275, the small blind called, and Chris "Jesus" Ferguson reraised $1,000 more to go. The button came over the top for $3,500 more, forcing the small blind to fold, but when the action got back to Ferguson, he pushed all in for his last $4475. The button called. Ferguson showed A-A, and the button flipped up K-9. That's right, K-9. The flop was devastating for Ferguson when it came K-9-4 making the button two pair. There were two diamonds on board giving Ferguson, who held the ace of diamonds, a backdoor flush draw to go with two remaining aces, and 3 remaining fours that would give him the lead in the hand. The turn brought a non-diamond queen. Ferguson needed a 4, a Queen, or an ace on the river for the win. The river brought a 4. Ferguson hit his bigger two pair, and left his opponent on the short stack. The crowd "oohd and ahhhd" reveling in all the action.
