vegas last weekend in june anybody?

Gents,

Just caught wind of the trip and I am in town from June 30-July 3rd.

However, the Friday lunch might be a problem for me as I am watching Italy vs. Australia in World Cup Soccer at 12 noon (not sure which sportsbook yet)

As well, the wife and I already bought tickets to a Cirque du Soleil show for Saturday night at 7:30pm so doubt I can make the dinner and enjoy everyone's company.

Was curious where else you guys might be hanging out over the course of the weekend and perhaps I can meet some MJ'ers for a few drinks.

I'll be in and out of some sportsbook for baseball Sat and Sun---what one will most you folks be hanging at?

Spits--- as you probably know, few sportsbettors in LV pay attention to the World Cup. Most soccer fans go to Crown and Anchor pub, or ESPN Zone to hang with each other. This soccer site also lists Monte Carlo and Hofbrauhaus. I recall some soccer folks also showed up at Hard Rock and Venetian last year.

Of course, most all sportsbooks will have the game noon Friday on TV as there is nothing else to show. It's just that in many sportsbooks you'll be the only one watching it.

I spend a lot of my time in the Venetian sportsbook. I'm sure I'll be there if you want to meet up for a game or a cocktail.

Police shoot man at Las Vegas airport 14 minutes ago



LAS VEGAS - Police shot and wounded a man at the city's international airport Tuesday after he grabbed a child and ran through a security checkpoint, authorities said.

The man had pulled a knife on a boy just outside a screening area, said Elaine Sanchez, spokeswoman for McCarran International Airport.

The child was unharmed and returned to his mother, who was at the airport, Sanchez said. The man was taken to a hospital.

"The system worked," Sanchez said. "As soon as the breach occurred, the police were in place and the system worked."

there was another shooting at about the same time, out west Washington Ave.

Tempers and violence flare up during hot weather---tho it did cool down a bit today with clouds and threat of floods. The thunderstorms will cool it down to 100 degrees next few days, then back up to 104 by Saturday.

Gang violence is way up here, and that is a big concern for the long run.

Video of a rare casino shooting (in North Las Vegas) few days back looks like gangs.

Patrol cops here are now training to use the Smith & Wesson MP-15 semiautomatic rifle.
