It took a little longer than I had expected but GW's outburst was predictable to say the least. Accusing me of disparaging the troops by posting a video of their treatment of a supposed ally is perhaps one of the most ridiculous things I have seen posted here and is a classic case of "shooting the messenger."

Am I to take it that you condone the behavior of these men who are supposed to be providing aid and guidance to an "emerging democracy?" And you continue to wonder why they hate us so strongly.

I have a question for you Weasy, if we all pitched in and bought you a clue, would you use it?

i`m not sure how much they hate us.....i don`t here malachi asking us to leave....but,i`m pretty sure i know where you stand, paralegal....

yes,you could buy me a clue....i`d appreciate that...

unfortunately,it would take a few whacks on that empty anti-american skull of yours with the "clue bat" to make a difference....

it`s a war,judge...not a cotillion...

guys like yourself and kosar wringing your hands about harsh words directed toward iraqi police trainees....

why don`t you send that outfit a harshly worded letter?.....lol

yet,not a word...a peep.....not a f-cking whimper..about our soldiers that were butchered like sheep....

i`m still looking for your comments on that tragedy....

still waiting for one of you guys to post something positive about the troops...

as all the anti-american threads and comments just continue on and on...

i expect this stuff from the costa rican wonder boy.......but kosar is a disappointment...

I'm not 'wringing my hands' because they were rude and mocking. I've already explained twice in this thread that it makes our job over there much more dangerous when this crap happens. In itself, I could care less that someone on this planet was rude to somebody else.

Just like I don't care, IN ITSELF, that somebody got panties put over his head, or that somebody got led around on a dog leash. But again...

While you laugh at their sensibilities, even though it costs more lives and maimings, I recognize that these 'silly' things only setback whatever progress we happen to make along the way.

How can you not agree with that?

I'm convinced that you're f*cking psychotic. Any time that anybody on here mentions anything about our 'butchered' troops, you jump down their throat, accusing people, the media, Big Bird, whoever, of always focusing on 'death counts' and 'negative stories.'

Which way do you want it? What will please you, oh crazy one?

Should people mention our dead troops, or not?

you`re about as nuanced as the load in a homeless person`s pants.....

are you talking about "mentioning it" ala spy the web?.....using casualty figures as a hammer to degrade moral and the mission of the troops?...

or "mentioning it" (the butchering of troops) as an outrage?....as something that should enflame the american public....the world?...

yes abu gharaib.....where they get koran`s handled with white gloves...appropriate meals....prayer rugs....

and our soldiers get?....that`s right...butchered like animals..

yet, you`re more than happy to be outraged at some harsh language from american troops...we see that...

now, point out the thread in which you bemoaned the brutality perpetrated on our troops....

the thread in which you praised their efforts.....

would you do that?...

How many posts do you figure i've made against this war, both before and after the occupation, 400, 500? More?

Put that down as my outrage over the 'butchering' of our troops.

It's weird how you want the country and the world to be 'enflamed' over the killing of our soldiers, yet if anybody whispers even a peep against it, you jump all over them as being anti-American and unpatriotic. You make no sense.

WTF is so surprising about this being a brutal struggle?

You should aim your pea shooter at the idiots who got us into it.

I keep reading these threads and the same thing keeps screaming in my head - Why does everything have to be an either/or situation? I'm sick and tired of the blanketing statements being made by some about differing situations. Intelligent people can look at different situations differently, and usually can allow that things can be different. Some here, although appearing intelligent in many instances, cannot ever seem to get past the blanket statements. The posturing and attempts to label people in a seemingly embarrasing way that you don't agree with remains the root of many of our current political problems, and it obviously is in full flower around here. "With us, or against us," has been a raging success for many. It's easier than actually facing some negative realizations, that's for sure.

You are either in favor of butchering or against butchering. I am categorically against butchering. I know, I know - that's a risky stance to take. But when I really look at the facts presented and measure all arguments, I feel that butchering is something that should not be promoted.

Let?s see, presumably because I posted a link to the video in question, gardenweasel has now found reason to label me as a ?paralegal?, ?anti-american? and a ?costa rican wonder boy? all of which are somehow meant to make me feel ashamed of myself.

Fortunately, none of these fit as I am not now nor have I ever done anything to deserve any of these monikers. If anything, questioning and yes, even (gasp!) disagreeing with this or any other administration?s policies makes me twice the American that you are or will ever be, GW, you see unlike you, I don?t have to have my politics spoon fed to me as I actually have the ability to reason for myself. I have no desire to sell my soul for party affiliation just so I can blindly defend the moronic decisions of this administration with a fanaticism similar to those that live for a jihad. I am beginning to see that you truly believe that this somehow makes me ?anti-American? and if this is true then I have neither the time nor inclination to have any further discussion with someone who has lost all ability to think for himself.

My political persuasion is as far from liberal as it is from the brand of hysteria that you call conservativism yet seemingly for no other reason than the fact that I am opposed to this war in Iraq, you lash out by labeling me a ?liberal? like it was some kind of infectious disease. I used to think that you were simply misguided but probably a nice guy but your inability to even consider any point of view or opinion that does not fall in line with the O?Reilly Doctrine is beginning to sicken me.

Get some help.

Didn't a bunch of guys send over some supplies to Nevertease while he was in Iraq? Sounds like supporting the troops to me. I find it strange that the guys who want the troops home and away from this no win battle are the ones that are labeled with the "I don't support the troops" while the guys who want to "stay the course" feel they are the guys who are supporting the troops.

Exactly. I lean right at least as on the same, probably on more, as many issues as I lean left on, but jerkoffs like Weasel (most of the others that used to post here and defend this admin have scattered like cockroaches over the past couple of years and I don't blame them) love to throw the word 'liberal' around to me because I oppose this 'war.'

This 'war' has proven to be a failure(shocker!) and will result in a full-blown civil war(it's already halfway there), whether we leave tomorrow or in 10 years.

Weasel,

AGAIN, any interest in exploring the big bad Soviet invasion/occupation of Afghanistan?

I didn't think so.

"I don't want to be a sexist, are you sure you are a man ? The hormones are raging threw the internet. This is a great thread but, I'm still waiting for Weasel to tell DTB not to be so emotional and correct his repetitive misspelling of mind boggling not / mind boggeling !"

--correcting people on spelling/grammer ect is cetainly not my bag-for obvious reasons--but couldn't pass on your classic :)

Just gonna trhow my 2cents out here and try to stir the pot some more. This war is unwinnable, because were not fighting to win. We don't have enough troops and equipment on the ground. If this administration/elites were serious, the country would be mobilized, draft would be in place and we would have 400,000 soldiers to clean out safe havens and secure our gains while increasing training of Iraqi forces. Not to mention an additional 100,000(at least) for Afghanistan. But I think it's a little late for this because I think we have pretty much worn out our welcome and missed our opportunity. Also, Our borders would be much more secure and this talk of legalizing illegal immigrants would not even be a thought. How many terrorists have slipped into this country by now? How many will be legalized? But if we are going to continue on the same course the President has set us on, then yes, I think we should bring our soldiers home, I mean, we should bring the President's soldiers home. There is no point in having any more soldiers and their families sacrifice for some B.S. agenda.
