the Vikings have drafted smartly the last several years.....eric kendricks and barr were excellent early picks that panned out...they seem to be getting better the longer they play together... greenway is the old vet in the lb corp...a solid group that the 2 new guys make much quicker and more versatile ..they also drafted sharrif Floyd on the d line and 2 number 1`s since 2012 that start in the def backfield...when you make those early draft picks count, you get better... you can see that they had a plan and it seems to be paying dividends..look at the schedule and notice how many teams were held to 20 pts or less as the season wore on(aside from the hag debacle, the Viking d was consistent in limiting points allowed).....question is,can the offense pull it`s weight this weekend?.. this game and the Bengal/ steeler game are really interesting match-ups...
Well since Zim has come to team this is last 2 years draft 2014 1. Anthony Barr - above average OLB who does it all, plays the run, defends the pass and can rush the passer
2. Teddy Bridgewater - currently a game manger mostly because they run first and play defense and trying not to get killed
3. Jerrick McKinnon - backup to Peterson, has above average skills and has the ability to run it to the house and is great pass catcher
6. Antoine Exum- backup safety who fills in nicely at times, good special teamer out for season with broken ribs
2015 1. Trae Waynes - imagine the Vikes could have had Peterson but can't have it all. Really good special teamer on punt and kick coverage, had got some playing time has looked Reallly good and really bad at times. People outside the organization and in say he's going to develop into a star, I'll wait and see
2.Eric Kendricks- Lb see Anthony Barr
3. Danielle Hunter DE LSU - didn't see the field much at first was thrown in when Robinson got hurt and is the backup and will probably be next years starter. Good pass rusher with 6.5 sack on limited time but puts solid pressure
4. TJ Clemmings- T, he was taking reps to start at right guard but an injury to Loadholt made him the starting right tackle, struggles at times but what do you expect from a 4th round rookie tackle but he is improving. His move to right tackle out mike Harris as the right guard with little experience and it has cost them
5. Micoele Pruit - TE very athletic, not the best run blocker so he doesn't get out there Much but has made some big catches for first downs. Has a lot of upside to really open up the middle. He's lost is numbers with Rudolph and Ellison but Ellison is out for season so let's see if he shows up on the stat like Sunday
5. Stefan Diggs WR - a steal in the 5th round, second in yardage behind cooper for rookie wr. Been absent in some games though. So you can see the Vikings have hit some guys who are going to be big stars and some players who fill a good role the last two seasons. Not to mention their 2013 draft netted players like Sharif Flloyd and Xavier Rhodes. Get guys like that to support Everson Griffen and Harrison Smith and they have a good defense that should only get better and better
