Where it is real F ing COLD
Saints - 5 (49)

I think the spot is about dead on and I think a lot of action will come on the over in this game. Viking fans, i will try not to be too pessimistic.. Everyone feel free to add comments..

Offense: EDGE going to the Saints in this one assuming they are healthy.. Vikes have some problems at O - Line and WR, sounds like the Vikes will start backup center in this one.. Hutch on the left is getting old and McKinney is overatated in pass block. They can whip your ass when it comes to runnin the ball but Chile refuses to run left.. Anyway the Vikes have trouble recognizing blitz and Taylor is now gone? WHo is going to pick up the blitz??? Obviously the Saints have a potent passing game and can spread the field..

Defensively: EDGE MINNY.
I know the Saints have some problems in the secondary and so do the Vikes.. Only 3 healthy corners at the moment.. I will take the Vikes front 7 against anybody. Lots of D - Line depth on the Vikes..

At first thought I think the Saints take care of the VIkes on Thursday night. Too many uncertainties amongst the O - Line and Secondary.. But if the Vikes don't turn the ball over then they will be in it until the end.. I am really leaning towards the UNDER even though both teams have secondary problems.. I think the Vikes try to run the ball a bit more to eat clock plus they have a wideout problem. At the same time it would really suck to take the UNDER in a game involving these 2.

I expect the Saints too prevail ..

Agreed, same result as last year or make it earlier this year.

I don.t expect that the Vikes will have a problem with New Orleans

First the Saints are 11/3/1 ats @ 3 to 6.5 points since 2008 but two of those losses were to the Vikes.....10/06/08 vs Minn -3 lost 27/30 and last years playoff game 1/24/2010 vs Minn -3.5 lost 31-28

Next Minny is 4/1 su 5/0 ats vs New Orleans since 2002 12/15/02 @ NO +7 W 32-31
10/17/04 @ NO -4 W 38-31
9/25/05 vs NO -4 W 33-16
10/06/08 @ NO+3 W 30-27
1/24/2010 @ NO +3.5 W 28-31

Every game by the way went over the posted total.........Vikes and the over.........what could be
easier ?

More on this later, but I think you have the angles down pretty well, BP, and I agree with much of your Vikings problems. I'm sick about Sidney Rice, I don't think his loss can be underestimated at this point.

I just think the number is a smidge high, considering how good the Vikes front 7 will be, along with Winfield looking so good and healthy this preseason. He was nothing like he is now at the end of last season, and he's worth a lot when healthy. Plus EJ Henderson back and controlling the middle, should present some issues for the controlled passing game of the Saints. The other reason I think 5 might be a little too much is I don't expect the Vikes to turn the ball over six freaking times in this game, which WAS the difference in the last game.

I'd expect Brees to nail the Vikes deep a time or two. Harvin evidently is being moved outside while Rice is out, and Camarillo is a good inside guy to fill that need. I wish Berrian was a better catcher of the ball, but he's not.

I think the under is a good look, and if I had to bet it, I would not lay 5 against the Vikes, but I cannot support them until I see them play in the regular season. I'm not sure Favre is Favre anymore, and cannot expect him to come out like he did last season. That could be a big issue, too.

I will not bet this, but if I did, I would go under. I think Peterson will be the main man in this game, and it will go up to the number, but not go over. At least that's what I think right now.

when was the last time these Saints lost one of the super hyped games that meant something..

aren't they like 5-0 or something since they put it all together a couple years back..

that damn building will be shaking at its very foundation..

Vikings offense will not be as good this year. Favre is one year older with bum wheel, Rice is out, and stud backup Taylor is now on the Bears. Taylor is a good wr out of the backfield and got hard runner as well and will be missed. In the meantime, Saints offense appears healthy and ready to go with many weapons on O.
