I won't be touching this game since I'm a BAMA fan, but it's been a long time since BAMA fans have felt this good about our chances against the Vols. If you look at the last two years, UT clearly had the advantage in talent and depth. Even still, BAMA managed to give UT all they could handle in '03 (5 OT) and '04 (interception on last drive).
Even with the loss of Prothro, I think this year BAMA has more talent. Maybe not depth, but many feel as if UA has the better starting 22.
I'm biased but I'd have to give a slight edge to the BAMA D. UT has a great front four, but I don't think their overall D is as good as UA's. Even if the defenses are a wash, I think BAMA has the edge when it comes to offense. Even with huge loss of Prothro, I'll take a Sr. Brodie over the uncertainty at QB UT is currently dealing with.
Finally, I think most folks realize how hungry this BAMA team is after what they've been through, I'm just not sure non-UA fans realize how hungry. They've looked flat several times this year but I think most would agree it is due to them looking ahead.
And don't forget the fact that the players know how much this game means to the fans after all of the Fulmer/NCAA off-the-field BS.
Sorry for not giving any solid #'s or trends, just wanted to add my worthless .02 on my first ever post.
ROLL!
