So wait football is still more important then the welfare of children.

Would anyone like to actually look into what happened to this guy now?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Gricar

PSU should not be playing football next year. The players can go where ever they want without having to sit out.

No. Penn State's core leadership were in on this too. You should be demanding the entire campus be burned down.

Any organization that recieved money and donations from the Second Mile should be writing checks to send it back immediately as well.

Stop trying to pin it all on one man.

And for all of you that have ever laid a wager on a Penn State game in the past? Have you all sent that money back to the bookie?

No? Shame on all of you for profitting on this evil and corrupt program.

Yeah twist things around on everyone else Marine.

All that happened there were decades of children being raped while everyone turned a blind eye.

Just tell me how football is more important than this?

I don't care that the players now had nothing to do with it, I don't care if the whole school ceases to exist but the football program is going to suffer most of the heat because this is where this happened.

you're right...it's our fault

which is funny.....becasue in an ironic kind of way it's actually YOUR FAULT....the fans,. alumni, students, etc of penn state who made this guy and his program all being and above all law.

and no, i dont need to burn down the academic buildings.....this was an institutional isse in the football program....shutting that program down will punish everyone else at the same time with the lack of football revenue for 1-2-3 years.

WE ARE......losers

I never understood this logic.....

I'm sure you or someone in your family is a practicing catholic....

so you would be for the catholic religion and all churches to cease? (for atleast a year of course) and telling them to go find another religion/church?

(let me add that I did not attend PSU or root for PSU)

Look, I'll spell it out all over again because most of you are so hyped up in your quest to show us your support of the victims and how much more mortified of this you are than the person sitting next to you...that you are blind to how ridiculous you sound.

Bad, bad, terrible things happened here.

There was corruption to the highest levels of Penn State.

Boys were raped and molested and assaulted on the Penn State campus.

There was corruption to the highest levels of Penn State with this. (notice how I said that twice, because it is kind of important)

And you guys want the football team closed down. Get real. Yea, you sound awesome chanting it, really you do. I completely believe your moral and ethicaly superiority because.. when young men are raped, YOU WANT THE FOOTBALL TEAM SHUT DOWN.

It is as if through all your hazed illusions of morality, you think that Paterno himself was the one sticking it right up the asses of these boys.

Do you think that Paterno would line up kids and send them to the showers and then call Sandusky up and say "hey, got a live one here for ya buddy"?

I'm pretty sure it didn't go down like that. I'm pretty sure we have witnessed a complete breakdown of an entire chain of leadership at the highest levels here. You've got the President and VP of Penn State involved in this - and reading what I have from a lot of you, this begins and ends with the football program.

Get real.

And yes, I am well aware that all of you think I'm a Penn State apologist or a Paterno loyalist and that he's done nothing wrong. And I'll say it again and again the same thing I have said from day 1 -

Bad things happened here, and trying to pin the entire thing on one man is ludicrous and so many of you are so caught up with screaming your outrage at this incident and showing us all how intolerant you are and how heavy handed you think the punishment on one man should be - it's laughable.

You want his statue burned down, you want the football program shut down.

What about the rest of the people involved? What about the people that had the chance to prevent this years before it even reached the Penn State campus?

What about the multi million dollar library Paterno donated to the campus? Why aren't you chanting for all the books to be yanked from there and that building pushed into the ground?
No, you aren't. You're telling us all that a football team made up of students that weren't even in high school yet when these rapes occurred needs to be suspended for a year and somehow that will make everything better.

I know, I know, you hate the Penn State football organization for profitting over the years at the expense of these lives turned inside out and suffering - but somehow your moral obligation ends there. It's not right for Paterno and his cronies to push this aside and do nothing, and continue to profit in their roles.. but somehow it's ok that you bet a few bucks on these same games and picked up some beer money. Totally different, yup, absolutely. Completely different there. They shouldn't be profitting off these kids and you are going to let us all know how you feel about that. We just won't mention that you profitted a little bit too.

The people who defend Paterno are morons. I think most of us wold have punch Sandusky in the mouth if we seen him in the shower w/that child.

It's a cult in Happy valley, the football program brings in 80 million dollars a year and if you think the cover up had nothing to do about money, think again.

As Box said, these people are mandated reporters and are required to report crimes, from the president to trainers, they all covered it up.:nono:

Take down the statue, no football for 2 years and give that money to the victims. I cannot see how anyone can defend PS whatsover, maybe it's a contraion(sp) viewpoint.

This is so simplistically accurate that it needed quoted.

I know, I know, you hate the Penn State football organization

Sadly, I think this is the true basis for all the hate.

The hate stems from the serial rape of children over the course of 13+ years under the watch of Paterno, who is among the most hypocritical figures in the history of American sports.

I am not interested in shutting down the football program, but the beefcake responses from you Penn state supporters are beginning to make me rethink that position.

Spazzing is RAPE of kids! You just want to forget that part. You must not have kids nor have never had them or you would understand their vulnerablility. .

You are talking to a Marine recruiter who cons kids with a total line of bullshit for profit. Why is anyone surprised with his statements here? As for other Marines on this site i am not knocking Marines, im knocking some of the shady things these recruiters pull off. :0008

Then by all means, direct that hate towards whom it belongs.

I have no problem with what you are saying, I just don't understand how the hate of children getting raped is directed towards college athletes who weren't even enrolled in the school when the criminal acts were taking place.

For the record, I did not go to PSU. I just don't understand the misdirection of blame going on here.

I have not once called for any sanctions against the football team, much less the "death penalty", but I do understand how some can hold the university in contempt over this. It is part of the deal when the face of the university over the past few decades acts in a criminally insane manner in placing the reputation of the football program ahead of the well-being of 11-12 year old children.

The NCAA has zero problem with punishing the athletes when coaches make mistakes. Like coach Cal, he fucks up leaves the school in trouble and takes another job elsewhere without any punishment.

Paterno was still running this team LAST YEAR.

Its not like Paterno and the other fucks that turned a blind eye have had nothing to do with the program for ten plus years. They were running shit a year ago.

The NCAA is in place to regulate competitive advantage. If one does not agree that the actions of Penn State beginning in the late 90s through last year in covering up the RAPE of these boys was nothing more then assuring that there was no HARM done to their FOOTBALL PROGRAM and REPUTATION OF JOE FUCKING PA then you are turning a blind eye.

Unfortunately, the kids at Penn St. now must suffer like the kids did at SMU, when SMU was given the death penalty for GAMBLING!!

What is worse, gambling or rape of young boys/cover up to allow to happen for a FUCKING DECADE!!!!

The only question I have is should the program be shut down for one year or multiple years.

Marine...you keep saying "bad things happen" like this is getting a flat tire or a workplace accident or even someone paying athletes.

Over 14 years, the janitors knew, coaches knew and it's not a major leap to think some Paterno family members knew. The error in your analogy is that if this event happened and a professor or administrative staff member was involved, they would have immediately been turned over to law enforcement. Sandusky was not turned in to protect the FOOTBALL program.

The leadership at PS didn't even look the other way and quietly let Sandusky go or get him some help...they instead helped to facilitate further raping of children to protect the FOOTBALL program.

Take Paterno out of the equation, the culture and leadership at PS was so sick that they weighed their options and chose to protect the program.

The last two posts by GJN are exactly right. Marine...it's very hard to justify and write off the anal rape of multiple children, stop trying.

It is becomming even more amazing that the leadership at PS apparrently still doesn't get it, the Paterno family doesn't get it and there are some people posting here that would rather write it off as bad things happen and, I guess, boys will be boys rather than understanding the detail of what actually occurred when people at that facility saw Sandusky walking around with a little boy and knew what was going to happen...just think about that for a moment.

Let the "student-athletes" immediately transfer to a new program and give them an extra year of eligibiity. That takes care of that issue and, if they are there because they love Penn State, they can stay and graduate keeping their scholarship.

yea, because uprooting a student athlete to another school, transferring the academic credits, intergrating with a new team, uprooting their life in the area and relocating themselves somwhere new, probably losing the scholarship money..

it's just that easy to transfer them.
