I know that I am no Weasie, but here is what a football blog wrote about the Ravens draft, who he rated as having the best draft....

The Ravens are the best at drafting, having yet another outstanding class this year. With their first two picks, Baltimore found two playmakers for Joe Flacco in Central Florida's Breshad Perriman and Minnesota's Maxx Williams. Baltimore also found three steals in Iowa DL Carl Davis, USC RB Javorius (Buck) Allen and Georgia Tech WR Darren Waller.

Thanks Al, that's encouraging. :0008

I don't know the players and too lazy to research them. My son really liked the draft and he's pretty knowledgable so has me halfway excited. Just wanted Weasie's opinion because he follows the Ravens and knows his nuts and bolts, as I always say.

hey,bud...I`m glad they finally took some offense...

perriman scares me a little...he had issues with his hands and he doesn`t have "great" college production(he played with blake bortles his soph year but the qb his jr year sure didn`t help him very much)....what really worries me is that before his pro day(workout) he was around the 14th or 15th rated wr....he ran a sub 4.3 40 and his stock soared...I don`t put that much stock in the 40....he can make great catches and then drop an easy one....he needs some work...

he may not be ready next year...then again,he has all the measurables to blossom and become a solid starter....personally,i would have taken jaelen strong or an edge rusher....I think they jury is still out on perriman...could be boom or bust...

this tape shows some good and a little bad......as you can see,the lousy qb play caused many of the issues.....he`s almost impossible to cover on slants...

http://seahawksdraftblog.com/breshad-perriman-athletic-but-can-you-trust-him

he has potential...having flacco throwing to him will make him that much better...

I loved the maxx Williams pick...the guy only just turned 21......many are comparing him to a young Jason witten...he plays hard and with lots of emotion...I`m thinking he reminds me of a young Jeremy shockey...I feel confident he`ll be a solid olayer for us....great pick late in the second...

<iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3H0Gyzxy3sY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

buck allen in the 4th I like quite a bit also...he runs the ball well,he catches it extremely well and is allegedly one of the better pass protecting back in the draft.....he`s 6`1" 220 and has some really nice subtle moves....he`s(size and style-wise) the perfect complement to our little back(forsett) and our big back(Taliaferro).....granted,these are his highlights but they`re pretty impressive...he averaged around 5.4 yards per carry over his career and in his last year gained over 1400 yards rushing and caught 41 passes in his last year for over another 400 yards...1st team all pac 10...

<iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/sp4z48CtCfU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

carl davis will be an anchor replacing ngata (along with Brandon Williams...smart pick)...zadarius smith(def mvp of the east-west shrine game) gives us depth on the edge(suggs and dumervil are getting older)...

and check this tape out of our other tight end pick nick boyle from delaware...he`s huge and a great blocker...looks like he also has some athelticism...

<iframe width="640" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/MpheXLw-9OE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

could potentially become one of ozzie`s best drafts...we appear to have filled quite a few needs...

Well, he should know the nuts end at least.....:0003

I can't find the article anymore, but one site (msn I think) had Ravens graded as A+.

yeah...I think it was a solid draft..i`m not a huge proponent of bpa when you have serious roster holes..i think they showed more balance in this draft and filled some dire needs(tight end and wr were two of the biggies)...but I sometimes think that ozzie newsome gets the benefit of the doubt even when his picks are shaky(and I`m a diehard ravens` fan)....

that said,he usually does a solid job year in and year out....

having an established qb goes a very long way toward having a successful franchise...the ravens were roughly a .500 team until flacco came here...under flacco they`re something like 72-40......

I think we know why teams like tampa bay and tenn. rolled the dice on Winston and mariotta....a solid qb is very important to sustained success in the nfl...

10/4 on having a good QB. And a really good TE may be as hard to find as a really good QB; it appears Williams has a really good chance to work out, at least it's in the bloodline anyway. One of the few games I watched last year was Ravens at Saints; I was very impressed and knew they had something then.

I hope so. But I also like to pull for whoever has my college guys; so I've got to add Baltimore and Pitt to my list with La'Darius Smith and Bud Dupree although I guess they are divisional rivals.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. believes second-round TE Maxx Williams could be the Offensive Rookie of the Year.

"He could be everything that Dennis Pitta was when he was healthy," Kiper said. It's silly to suggest Rookie of the Year honors as first-year tight ends almost always struggle and Maxx won't see a ton of volume -- Pitta's best season was 61-669-7. But Kiper's point on the highly athletic and skilled Williams as a nice fit for Joe Flacco and the Marc Trestman scheme is well taken.

you know what many people don`t realize(I know I didn`t)?.....pitta only had one good year...injuries destroyed what could have been a promising career...

but I always thought he had several good years.....he only had one.....

perceptions are funny....

o.k.,back out on the road....talk to you later...

god help this team if either Webb or Smith in the secondary don't stay healthy for a complete season.

no help for seconday via the draft was a mistake, i think.

I think 9/10`s of the fanbase would totally agree with you,ie....webb still isn`t the same player since his knee injury and I've read lis franc injuries are wildly unpredictable.....

they have a ton of def backfield bodies on the roster...but I don`t think they`re done maneuvering yet.....
