Came as close as I ever came to getting struck by lightening last night. Took smoke break and was sitting on porch--watching the lightening in the distance--and boom--hit my neighbors tree-knocked out street lamp. Was like someone took pic with flash bout inch from my face as saw spots for several minutes. Didn't do a lot of damage to tree but had large rocks around tree and put one of them in the street--Was freaky experience.

:scared :scared Did it make the hair on your arms stand up? I've been close to it before like that too, and it's a huge flash followed immediately by that large POW thunder. Glad you only saw spots and not the backs of your eyelids!!

I thought about the hair standing up-as had always heard that also--but was too shocked by sound and light to notice much of anything else--

I had my hair stand up {back when I had some, cmon guys, not going to make it that easy for you} playing golf back in my teens. We were on the last hole and the storm was coming in but we thought we could finish the one last hole before it got there. Keep in mind, this was in the late 70s when you wore steel spikes for good grounding and carrying your clubs which made for 14 nice lightning rods on your back:scared Felt all my hair stand up before the flash and boom and you never seen four white guys run so fast for that clubhouse:mj07:

actually had a light pole struck in the parking lot of the maintenance facility I worked at back when I actually turned wrenches and I was walking with two buddies and all three of us either jumped or squealed or both and my buddy Rob was running cuz his truck was clase and he had hold of the handle of his truck and he folded like a lawn chair and had a char mark on his hands and shoulder. I had twoo little holes charred open on the big toes of my sneaks and my buddy Les has some mks on his feet underneath the steel in the toed boots he was wearing. Was scary as hell. Now keep in mind none of this was by any means life threating just felt like a quick jolt like a nerve test thing they do when they zap your ass to check for nerve damage and stuff, but we still got two days off with pay so we went fishing.

I honestly do know that this was of no help whatsoever but you never know it may have hepled someone,
