leans until i get these plays in with my local...but my reasoning nonetheless
1.) pitt
2.) and pitt/cinci over 9....Dempster was absolutely horrendous last year...he led the league in earned runs at 125..he was 5th in walks allowed at 93 ...he was tied for 5th in hr's allowed ...in 4 games pitched vs. pitt he had and era of 8.02...whip of 2.02...and BAA of .330....those are some serious numbers for a look against ....
wells was 0-3 vs. cinci last year but his numbers were more respectable...0-3 with a 3.95 era...whip 1.83...and a 299 avg..his whip and baa are still high...which could lead to trouble...seems from the numbers that cinci simply did not take advantage of some walks or base hits with clutch hitting..or wells pitches better in pressure situations with men on (will look into this)...whats interesting is at the 2 games he pitched at cinci wells gave up 3 earned runs in 11 innings ...
umpire vanover in this game....he umpired 2 pitt road games with scores of 17-10 and 10-5...the 17-10 score was with wells pitching.....in 2002 he umped one game at cinci with a score of 10-5...did not ump any dempster games..
think there is a good chance this game hits 10 for the win...and a good chance dempster may get hit hard...check out these numbers of pitt players vs. dempster in 2002...some players are still there others are not...i put a star next to players i would anticipate in the starting lineup tonight...
