So the Steelers play Denver again right off the bat.

Talk about revenge.

And the game is PICK?

The Steelers are my best bet of the day....Got them at +1.

I can see them going into Denver and winning this game pretty easily.

Will Manning be able to hold up under a rush that will be trying to break his neck.

Denver defense was stout last year and they did some good things all year long.

Hard to know yet if Manning will be able to perform magic with Denvers receivers.

I will be watching this game closely.

Second game Denver travels to Atlanta.

I would think Manning can move the offense better than Tebow. Steelers seem to start slow every year. Home field is huge here on Sunday with Manning on opening day. And the line seems like a sucker bet. I'll just sit back and hope for a Steelers loss, that's plenty enough action for me.

How did you cap the game, Kid, what is your logic?

Steelers are pretty much the better team....Manning and all the hype on a Sunday night....And the Broncos are only a 1 point favorite.....I`d be very careful betting the Broncos....That`s just me.

Hey Jack...I was under the impression the Steelers are a solid team that comes out of the gate strong each year?? Will look into this stat...or maybe somebody else can pull up...but over last 10 years or so...I "thought" they usually got a W week #1?

"the bunker"
steelers are a tad nicked up(decastro gone, ryan clark with the sickle cell, harrison may not play...has hardly practiced...even if he plays ,not sure how effective he`ll be).........mendenhall and hampton coming off long rehabs....

i`m always surprised at some of the crap we hear from steeler fans....."manning`s just looking to survive the first week" ....."we have the strongest team since the mean joe/swann/stallworth days"

wait,what?.....::grins: ;)

The biggest factor is Ryan Clarke. He didn't play last season in Denver. I assume he won't play again, that makes their secondary vulnerable. I'd lean over at this point. Ben has 3 strong weapons at WR and should be able to put up some points if given time to throw. Alot of unknowns to wager big. :0corn

can't remember the Steelers ever handling Peyton easily..

but that is days gone by..

sorta like that Steeler showing against Denver to close out the season..they can't be that bad.

we shall see..

Just going to kick back and watch this game...but I remember what I was thinking about in regards to Steelers recent opening day records...

Last year I remember betting Steelers Week #1 against Ravens. Under Tomlin they were 4-0 on opening day and lost to Baltimore....so they are 4-1 under Tomlin. I know this stat doesn't really mean squat...just thought I would share. Tomlin is a pretty damn good coach when it comes to getting his team ready to play week #1....

Jack

As much as it hurts to admit this, the Ravens have better looking cheerleaders than Pittsburgh. Now, if only politicians could be as open minded at that and reach across the aisle to find common ground.

I might as well throw my 2 cents in. As a Steelers fan and a gambler that has been known to tail the "Kid" at times. I got half a boner when I saw that he was on my team this Sunday Night.

I also believe that the revenge factor is huge in this game. Not many people thought that Denver was going to win that game last year. If I recall, Pitt was favored by 7 points on the road in the playoffs? Some books may have had it even higher than that. I know that the Steelers are getting older and we hear that every year. But they should be fresh and ready to go in week 1, even in that thin air that we constantly hear about.

I also think that Peyton is great. But this is not the team that he has played with his whole career. And he has been missing for quite some time now. So he is going to try to knock the rust off against one of the best defensive Cord. in the league and everybody will know exactly where he is at. In the pocket getting ready to have his head knocked off!

The last several years the Steelers have been a good prime time team and they really seem to play good when they are the dog also.

I really enjoyed reading this thread- thanks to all, regardless of what side you are on? I know I will be a huge homer that night. I just hope that I am playing with house money. As most all of you know, It sucks when your team loses and you lose your wager too!!!!

Thanks, G.J :0074
