CLEEEEAR!!

Welcome back for the NFL. We will try to put in another winning season. If you are not familiar with me, I try to keep my pick around 4 to 6 games per week. I wager the same amount on every game. If I post a "big game", I add an additional 50% on the game. I believe that winning money in the NFL handicapping game is a marathon. If you look for the quick score, you will lose. You are welcome to follow me all season. I have documented over 60% NFL winners the past 4 years (59% was my worst year) If you bet $100 on each of my selections, you would be up just shy of $8000.

I am from Baltimore and follow the Ravens closely. I try to post a little write up about the Ravens every week and seem to have a pretty good winning percentage betting on or against my team.

Always feel free to ask me questions or leave comments in my thread. I enjoy the conversations with my fellow madjackers.

Let's get started!

Week 1

Thursday Night

New England / Pittsburgh OVER 51 Loss

Any rain (90% chance) will help. Two very good, bad weather QB's. New corners for the Pats and a possible very weak defense for the Steelers.

Sunday

Ariz -2.5

First off, I feel the Saints defense will be atrocious. Yes they made some upgrades, but will probably take some time to gel together. Arizona's defense is still strong coming into this year. If not for horrific QB injuries, the Cards were looking at an NFC championship game last year at minimum. Carson Palmer is back and healthy. Arizona has offense line concerns including a center from the scrap heap. With the Saints on defense, week 1 should go just fine. I look for the Cardinals to handle the Saints by at least a TD.

Good luck this year, always check your posts for insights. Already like both of these picks, Arizona jumped off the paper right away at me. As for tonight, missing Bell will hurt the Steelers offense big time. But Williams should get some good looks. I can see both QB's slinging it 50 times each tonight. Not sure what to expect strategy-wise with Pitt defense with Lebou gone. They have no pass rush so I expect the corners to play soft and get sizzled all night. I'll be on the over as well tonight, GL...

CLEEEEAR!!

4pm - 430pm Starts

Arizona -2.5 win
(posted earlier)

Tampon Bay -3
loss
There is a trend that hits over 75% in the NFL. Play AGAINST a QB who is making his first road NFL start. Today Mariotta makes that 1st road start in Tampa. I also think the Bucs will be solid at home this year

San Diego - 3
win
Lions 3-7 ATS last 10 on grass. 2-6 SU last 8 as a dog
Chargers 7-0 ATS last 7 September games

Oak +3 loss
The Raiders are going to be real tough at home this year. Carr will take the next step at QB.
Tough spot for the Bengals

Balt +4.5 loss
see Ravens Report below

I hate having this many picks, but I think they are are warranted.
**Back by 7pm for Sunday night football**

Ravens Report

Ravens return 17 of 22 starters from last year's team that came a pub hair shy of upsetting the Champions in Foxboro. The Ravens secondary was a shambles last year and has since become healthy and upgraded. The weak spot on the team appears to be at WR. However, look for Steve Smith Sr to be a force, especially early in the year before his age begins to show. This is his retirement year and will pour out the passion in his play.
I do not see Peyton Manning "losing a step" as many do. However, I do see the Broncos losing a step especially on defense in the secondary.
The Ravens can exploit this as Forsett can run efficiently enough to set up Flacco's strength, the play action pass. I like the Ravens to win outright but if not, the 4.5 points should be enough to get the money.

Ravens 4-1 ATS last 5 on road as dogs

Season Outlook Ravens 11-5 AFC North Division Champs (2 seed in AFC)

My apologies for not posting Game 1. Mom went to the hospital by ambo. She is stable but has a tough road ahead. Anyway, here is Game 2 and this will determine a winning or losing week for me as I come in at 4-4 thus far in week 1.

10:15pm Start

Too much missing from the 49ers.
SF is 4-9 ATS last 13 as home dogs
Minn 5-1 ATS last 6 when posted total is under 42
Minn 8-3 ATS last 11 when posted line is 3 or less
Minn 5-1 last 6 vs San Fran
