CLEEEEAR!!

Before the Lardarius Webb season ending injury. Before the Ray Lewis season ending injury. Before Haloti Ngata and Jimmie Smith got banged up......This game had ASS-WHOOPING all over it.

I have been reporting since week1, the Ravens are HORRIBLE, not bad, HORRIBLE on defense. Don't ask me how they are 5-1. The offense is very good and improving. I believe they can be great by year's end. Lord knows they will have to be. This Ravens defense had given up way over 200 yards rushing in back to back wins. That almost defies logic in itself, but to win both games??? The only feasible way to somehow win BOTH of those games you would have to have some crazy combination of playing against the likes of Tony Romo and Matt Cassell back to back.....oh wait, yeah..

The Texans are laying 6, at home, after a humiliating loss. The Texans are playing at home against the team they outplayed and lost to in the playoffs last year. They are playing a team that is just not great on the road, or even a very good, even at full strength. The Ravens were thin on defense. Now, they are flat out decimated.

The Ravens will not be be able to fill 2, possibly 3 HUGE holes on a defense in just 1 week. This defense was BARELY playing well enough to begin with just to keep teams from getting into the 30's. The task at hand, to take a thin defensive corps, eliminate 2 of the biggest pieces of the puzzle and severely damage 2 other pieces, and ask them to band-aid itself together enough to stop a top 5crushing Offense, is simply too much to ask, anyone. Before the latest injuries, the Ravens defense was in BIG trouble. Arian Foster and Ben Tate were salivating, waiting for Baltimore. The Houston Texan coaching staff are disciplined and smart enough to just keep on pounding it and pounding it on the ground. 300 yards on the ground? 40:00 T.O.P.?? These are very real expectations from the Texans.

Flacco, Rice and the gang can move the ball on anyone. They will again this week. However, when you have the ball less than 20 mins, you simply cannot keep up. The Ravens had he ball less than 20 mins vs. Dallas and got 24 pts on offense, a very commendable feat. This week, its the REAL Texas team.

The Ravens get a bye week after this game, they will be 5-2 with the division lead and the #2 spot in the AFC. All will seem well in Raven land. They get 2 weeks to find the "next man up", then come home to the Browns and the Raiders. T-Sizzle Suggs starts practicing this week. By week 11, the Defense will be at least serviceable again. Just not this week. Healthy or not, the Purple and Black come home Black and Blue

Prediction: Houston 37 Baltimore 17

PLAY: HOUSTON -6 HUGE!!

Putting my 6-0 Ravens record on the line here. This is by far my most confident feeling on a Baltimore game this year!

Totally agree...After my pack spanked Texans they will be focused and destroy a very over rated Balt team that will get run over on D and Texans will score 28 minimum and Flacco is not Ridgers and they will score 17 max.

I agree if line stays under 7 not 7.5.
But lets not forget the OVER.

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Houston-Gbay game a look-ahead-game?

Houston-Gbay game a look-ahead-game?

+ Defensive Captain first game out with injury.

Cowboys shudda won that game at Balty, poor coaching.
Balty defense proved they are.... defenseless.

How about ML Gbay-Houston? or 6pt tease?

Thinking Gbay goes on a small roll here... St Louis and Jax then Detroit.

Go Pack..

Updating a previous item, NFL Network and the Baltimore Sun are reporting that the Ravens do not expect OLB Terrell Suggs (Achilles') to return this week. Ultra-reliable Adam Schefter's earlier reporting is being called into question. It sounds like Suggs expects and wants to play, but the Ravens intend to hold the reigning Defensive Player of the Year out. That would make sense considering the bye looms in Week 8 and Suggs is just six months removed from an Achilles' tendon tear. "He's not playing. I'd be shocked if he plays," a source told the Sun.

just outside of D.C.
No way a 5-1 Ravens team plays Suggs this early in the season when they need him healthy for the playoff stretch...it would be idiotic!! He very well may want to play.....and probably itching to get back out there....but no way it happens! :nono:

Good luck with your play Rattler! :0074

i saw a recent picture of suggs (a week or so old) and he certainly didn`t look like he`s been pushing himself away from the table during his convalescence/rehab.......

Suggs likely back this week per Schefter

Just talked to someone who knows what the hell is going on. He said Suggs has minimum 2 more weeks. Most likely scenario, week 9 or 10. No way is he playing Sunday!

HE WANTS TO PLAY TONIGHT, IN THE PARKING LOT. HE IS MENTALLY READY!!! T-SIZZLE IS ITCHING!

The coaches will not let him come back premature. I mean, just think, why bring him back a week BEFORE your bye week? You sit him 1 more game, and you get 2 MORE weeks worth of rest as your payoff.

I would love to see him earlier. Lord knows we need him BAD!!!

Webb is the real loss but there will be a replacement.

McClain filled in nicely for Ray last year. Let 'em run, it takes time, look at the last two wins. Defense will tighten up in the red zone, always have, always will.

Ravens strike quickly. There are guys here that will tell you offense wins games not defense. ;)

Ravens will WIN this game. Period! They'll definitely cover the spread but I'm thinking win. Watch.

McClain filled in nicely for Ray last year.

Jimmy Smith will start in Webb's place. A downgrade for sure. Unfortunately, he is gonna draw Andre Johnson. That will be a mismatch. I think Owen Daniels (TE) has a huge day for Houston.

The Raven's defense has been BARELY holding on. They couldn't afford for Pollard to get a hangnail. However, the Birds took a beating and they just cannot come up with the answers in 1 week. I believe even at full strength, with Suggs and Lewis and Webb, the Ravens lose this game IN HOUSTON.

I personally am not that concerned about Lewis, but McClain hasn't played as well this year as last year. Ngata is banged up. Reed is banged up. Ravens defense looked like shit BEFORE the injuries. I just don't see them going into a pissed off, Texans team that has an attitude and being able to stay in the game.

I RARELY ever wager against the Ravens when they have to lose for me to win. I just do not see them having a shot at the game this week. I would lose my money with joy if I am wrong. This is a HUGE, MONUMENTAL game for the Texans. There are coming off a loss and are playing the team they feel that they must leap over to get to the next level.

This game means a lot more to the Texans then it does the Ravens. They are the more healthy team, and they have the bigger motivation.

Ravens activated Terrell Suggs (Achilles) off the PUP list, and he will play on Sunday in Houston.
Suggs is just five and a half months removed from a partially torn Achilles' tendon. It's a surprising development, as many in the football universe thought that the Ravens would hold Suggs out through the team's Week 8 bye. ESPN's Adam Schefter nailed the Suggs news from the jump. Suggs will look to energize a Baltimore pass rush that has recorded just 10 sacks on the season and a defense that just lost Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb for the season. Baltimore cut 2010 second-round pick Sergio Kindle to make room on the 53-man roster. "

Still like Houston but it sure helps the Ravens D.
