Actually this is a week one play but....

Miami +6 over Florida State - I love this annual battle of past, present and future criminals. It reminds me of Burt Reynolds and The Longest Yard every time they step on the field. Six points is a lot to lay in this one, and I think that Miami is the more talented team in this game even though they are still quite young. I look for a defensive battle as always that will come down to the bitter end.

Syracuse +28 over Penn State - Syracuse showed a little life against a disinterested Minnesota team on Saturday. I expect the Nittany Lions to be equally disinterested this weekend. A couple of scores by Syracuse and that will be plenty to cover against a team that is going to struggle at times until they find out who exactly will replace all of the playmakers they lost last year.

Western Michigan +1.5 over Indiana - I agree with Spang and Falcon here. WMU is not nearly as bad as they looked at the Big House. They just happened to run into a team that had a lot to prove to themselves and their staff. Indiana looks destined to finish in the basement of the Big Eleven.

Minnesota -3.5 over Air Force - I'm not convinced they are as bad as they showed in the Carrier Dome. The Gophers are unveiling their new stadium this week and the Falcons are not playing Nicholls State anymore.

North Texas/Ohio under 52.5 - This should feature ground attacks and the clock should roll.

Pitt/Buffalo under 50 - See above. Last year these two barely got over 40 with more offensive weapons than what they are throwing out there this year.

Can BG and EMU get to +20?????

Jumping on the bandwagon on this one...

Oregon -11.5 over Purdue - Not much doubt that Purdue's only real shot in conference is against Indiana even though they handled Toledo while some other teams struggled. They still got destroyed by the Toledo offense and now they are playing a late night game in one of the toughest environments in the country against a team that has had two extra days to be pissed off. The Ducks should score early and often.

Notre Dame/Michigan over 47.5
- The offenses will move the ball in this one and it should remain fairly tight throughout the game. The overs are taking a beating in these blowouts but I'll take two fairly explosive offenses in a close one.

Central Michigan +14.5 over Michigan State - We really don't know just how good either team is, but we do know that this is a Super Bowl for CMU and a possible peek ahead to Notre Dame for Sparty.

USC/OSU over 23 (First Half) - Last year Tressel attempted his typical techniques of small ball and it got out of hand quickly after he settled for a field goal. At home and under the lights, I think he will come out firing and USC will fire right back early on. I like the first half better because there is a better chance of both coaches tightening up in the second half as opposed to the first.

Eastern Michigan +21 over Northwestern - Gotta take the three touchdowns.

Notre Dame/Michigan over 46 - Not sure why it dropped.
