It would be a three way tie between San Fransisco, New Orleans and Amsterdam. Those doing the most squawking about these three cities have never visited any of them.

Having just returned from Venice I'd have to put it first, but that's only because there a a few places on this list I haven't made it to yet.

san fran is the best at one thing....im sure you guy guys can figure it out.......

I can only speak of the ones I've been to.

So, in order, my top three are Sydney, San Fran and Venice.

But, of course, to each their own.

Peace! :)

I have been to eight of them

I have been to eight of them

Don't get me wrong, I liked all of them I have been to.

I liked Amsterdam, New Orleans, and San Sebastian the best.

Two reasons why San Fransisco (homeless everywhere) and Venice (water stinks) were low on my list. I really liked those two as well as they both had very nice things about them.

I have been to a few & of those that I did visit....

My wife liked Venice more than I did....I didn't like it because in some places the water smelled & in too many places there was debris in the water....

Imo, San Fran used to be a great city....They still have great restaurants there, but the homeless problem is a major blight on the city....

I like New Orleans, but my favorite city is Vancouver....I just love that city !!

I dunno. I have no issues with the homeless.

And if I were homeless, San Fran would be an awesome place to end up in.

Peace! :)

Lived in NYC for most of my life & never had an issue with the homeless....

But in SF it is different....

The last time that I was there the homeless were laying on the sidewalk in bulk....

At times we had to walk in the street because there were 6 or 7 laying on the sidewalk & covering the whole sidewalk....

One night a friend & I made a liquor run & there were about 15 to 20 homeless congregating around a store & we had to weave our way around them just to get into the store....

I can give you other examples but you get the point....

I've been there. I know.

I even interact with them. And try to help out in the very small ways that I can. They are simply not an issue for me.

However, the fact that homelessness even exists is.

Peace! :)

Happy 4th of July, Al...:toast:

We wanted to see Venice before it's no longer above water and I wasn't expecting much. We were both very pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed our time there.
It was very warm-- low 90s, but we never smelled the canals. I didn't care for the trash floating in places, but with Venice being a city of canals I equated it to seeing trash on the streets of any city you might visit.
Don't like the amount of homelessness in San Francisco, but as long as they don't accost me for spare change, I've got no problem with them.
Really want to get to Lisbon sometime, but Ireland and the U.K. are up next for us.

I guess its not politically correct to call them bums anymore. They are the homeless.
