When you are already in the + for the day. You do your research decide on a play and at the last minute go the opposite based on line movement and wind up losing and in the - for day. I spent the last 4 hours yelling at myself and 2nd guessing. I know we can't win everyday but how you do just let it go....??? I'm in bed and can't sleep i'm so angry.

I never flip flop personally, but have been scared off plays for certain reasons. Also I don't look at line moves as much as others. Lastly I never try to draw attention to my picks or certain situations as I think that only adds bad karma to a possible great bet. Shake it off - there are over 2,000 games a season so lots more chances to be on the right side again.

Fletcher--great 'capper and interesting man--used to quit early in a week or a day. He'd say, "At the beginning of the week, you wanted to be this far ahead by the end, right? You're there. Protect your winnings."

That's a reasonable approach but usually doesn't suit me anymore than it suited you yesterday.

I also know people thrilled to take insurance on a blackjack vs an ace. A bad bet statistically but a guaranteed win.

To answer directly, the last bet was shaky and had too many variables on each side--according to you--for you to risk more than a small percentage of the day's winnings on it.

Good luck today!!

Great advice from Fletch, JNG!!

TFresh, been there dun dat with what you stated in your thread start!!

Baseball or any sport, can be rather tricky, when it appears easy on paper, decide why you think this team will win and how much will they win by, then take into account the weather forecast, I've seen people lose because a game gets pushed back or a starting pitcher can't go after a rain delay then the bullpen craps your play, there are so many variables that can go for ya or against ya!

Being consistent each and every day is what I try to do personally especially in bases and basketball since there are games basically every day of their respective seasons.

I use my own formulas when computing predicted outcomes, knowing the teams in baseball as well as the pitchers from past and current performances and follow the money line trend some.

Covers has some great ATS money for and against on pitchers this year, which will tell you which pitchers to fade and which pitchers to tail, also with the All-Star break coming quickly, some pitchers pitch better the 2nd half and some tank it, moving forward, I hope this info helps you. There are many great people in MJ's forum, that have been there and dun dat, so keep your chin up and drink some camomille if you need to get some shut eye!!

WB thanks what really got me was I had read your thread....GOY play...I did my own research I 1000% agreed with your play. 1min before the game the line move spooked me and I went Cubs. Great call and lesson learned. I have great money management. If I win my first play say for $500 I will generally play next play for $600 or $700.

Thanks for the responses all !
