You know what really trip's me out? Kobe and his parent's did not speak for a long time because they disapproved of his choice in a wife. They had nothing to do with him for a long time. Then, after his family reconciles and they accept the wife, Kobe goes out and basically look's like the biggest idiot in the world.

I agree with your political views 100% Dr., but on this deal I don't. Kobe had given shown no inclination for behavior like this in the past. At least it wasn't made public if it had. Plus Kobe plays the type of basketball that puts people in the seats, and puts people in the living room watching on the tube because of the ways he can score. Duncan can't do that.

IMO:

you ask any team out there who they would have: Duncan or Kobe....bet ya more than half would want Duncan in a heartbeat.....and this would be before they ever heard about Kobe's recent problems....

it's sad where basketball is going....all about the flashing dunk and "me, me, me" attitude.....duncan is a breath of fresh air....i enjoyed watching him in college and still do now in the pros...

dont get me wrong, i love seeing the "sporstcenter" highlight like the rest of us, but i have 10 times more respect for players like TD who are vital and beneficial to the team they are on

Kobe's a great player, but he would be only an slightly above average player without Shaq and the Triangle offense....

Agree with everything you say about Duncan. The fact that he is one of, if not the best, low post player the last 5 years is overlooked because he is all substance, no style.

At the very least, Kobe is an adulterer. And I think the DA has to have the goods on him, because like I said, he knows what is at stake. He knows if he is wrong, Kobe will sue the piss out of him. Thats what makes me feel there is some very good evidence against Kobe.

Kobe is and always has been a fraud....

you must not watch much basketball. While I certainly don't agree with what he did here, I think Kobe has always carried himself in a classy manner. Remember, he was in the NBA at age 18. Robinson and Duncan are also very classy, I will admit. As far as Kobe's talent, folks who say he is nothing without Shaq are imho not very knowledgeable about the game. He's the best in the NBA.

He's and idiot, plain ans simple. These guys are constant targets of groupies and money hungry bimbos all the time. Let's face people make bad desisions everyday and he'll pay dearly for this one.

They both knew what they were doing and just just wants the cash, publicty and if she's fine enough, maybe a playboy spread, which Dr. Stangelove will kindly post for us:D .

I'll bet that either in the very near future or w/in 5 years his wife divorces his cheating ass!!:nono:

Out

P.S. His wife is awful fine. I can't wait to see what this bimbo looks like.

Regarding the Freeze "fraud" comment......

brings to mind another black hero who was a great, nice likable guy revered by both blacks and whites. No one would ever have imagined that O.J. could have decapitated his wife with a knife and butchered another who happened on the scene.

No one knows what people are capable of and you sure as hell can't make judgements about people based on game performances, post-game intereviews and other press clippings. Whether Kobe is guilty or not I don't know but to imply, as many have, that this is a made up story by the girl is pretty short-sighted thinking.

Kobe sure didnt look too remorseful sitting there next to his wife.

It looked like the same smirk he uses in all his press conferances.

Unfortunately for now Scott, this cant just be dropped. As a criminal matter it would have had to be settled before charges were filed. As opposed to a civil proceding, this is out of the victims hands now. Once the DA files charges, thats it, Kobe cant just "buy her off" anymore because the DA is in charge. And even after the DA is done with Kobe, she could still file a civil case if she wanted to. This of course would most likely be settled long before it hit a courtroom.

remember Iverson wasnt going to be dropped either. All it takes is the victim forgetting things happened after receiving large amounts of cash. Kobe may get out of this under 10 million. Didnt M Jackson also buy his way out of trouble by paying off the family.
Its all about the money when it gets right down to it.

" The league prefers the stance of silence until court proceedings are completed, which played out well last summer when Philadelphia's Allen Iverson was charged with four felonies involving a weapon and assault. Those charges were later reduced to two misdemeanors."

" -- The Associated Press

Iverson was charged in July with barging into an apartment with a gun and threatening two men while looking for his wife. All but two of the charges were dismissed in July after Iverson's two accusers couldn't agree on whether he had displayed a weapon.

District Attorney Lynne Abraham said Thursday she would drop the remaining charges because the men didn't want to testify. Municipal Court Administrative Judge Seamus P. McCaffery issued a written order signing off on the request.

Charges also were dropped against Iverson's uncle, Gregory, who police said had been with the NBA All-Star the night he looked for his wife.

Assistant District Attorney Charles Ehrlich, the lead prosecutor on the case, said Jones and Carey had relayed through their mothers that they didn't want to testify."We are gratified by today's decision to drop all remaining charges against Allen Iverson," the 76ers said in a statement. "From the beginning, we urged our fans, the press and the public not to immediately react, but to allow the matter to be processed by the judicial system."

Abraham denied that Iverson had received star treatment. She said prosecutors routinely drop cases in which complaining witnesses decide they don't want to testify.

Through it all, Iverson, who led the 76ers to the NBA Finals and was named the league's MVP in 2001, remains enormously popular. His 76ers jersey is the among the league's top sellers, and Reebok last year gave Iverson a lifetime extension of his 10-year, $50 million endorsement contract."

What I don't understand is how every story I read is about Kobe's image and how it is tarnished now and he won't be able to sell Sprite or whatever. How's about the fact that the NBA is full of thugs who get arrested on drug charges, accused of rape etc and are still getting payed millions of dollars. It's pretty sad that when a high profile player such as Kobe is accused of what he is, the first thing the media worries about is his "marketability" and not the underlying problems. I think that says a lot about our society as a whole.

by "fraud" meaning the guy has imitated Jordan the way he talks, walks, dresses, etc. etc....come on dude, get your own identity...

i have never ever thought anything out of Kobe's mouth is genuine....and still don't.....hopefully someday he changes his attitude and starts being a little more real

thats one thing i like about Bonds....the guy is a real dude even if he is an ass sometimes...at least he doesnt try to put on a media face every time he steps on the podium...and to me Bonds is more respectable than Kobe ever was

hmmm, freeze, I guess I've just never seen that in Kobe. U are right about Bonds, though, he doesn't seem to care what anybody thinks about him. I think he was one of the most hated players in the game until the record breaking season and the world series.
