My life is influenced more locally, not nationally.

I don't think Conservatives have it all together nationally right now themselves. They might be done. And it started when the Rooskies disappeared.

All I want is smaller government. Just smaller government.

pipe dream

I'm getting steamrolled with taxes. Property ($6200 on a dump 10 mins from Ohare), water & sewer, I have to be hitting 3 to 4 hundo plus in gas to run vehicles, city sticker (cost extra for my 3 vehicles), plate sticker, added taxes on ALL kinds of shit in Chicago from special restaurant taxes to cell phone taxes to special soft drink taxes to hotel taxes to airport taxes to ball game taxes to BIG TIME liquor taxes. We just let seniors ride public transportation for free and they are saying my property tax will go up to pay for that. All that's off the top of my head. I'm getting hit from a douche mayor, a moron governor, and a completely worthless POS county board head.

When does the bleeding stop.

Thank God for cash accounts and our current tax system. (my only saving grace)

And I know quite a number of people personally that rape the shit out of this system. You give money away, there are millions to figure out the best way to take it.

**** the whales

**** the owls

**** the immigrants

**** former Vice Presidents and their grunge looking sidekicks

**** the homeless

**** the criminals

**** the GREEN ****s right in their GREEN asses

**** Hillary and national health care

I've been up since 11:30 last night. I worked 15 ****ing hours. I ate. I got another hour of work outside in the ****ing snow. Then I get to get up in 6 hours and roll through it again. I had one guy cost me ( the totally rich white guy) at least $600 in damages to one of my trucks today. The other dumb**** I got, he's 45 days out of Menard. That's Illinois prison for the hard core. I get to tlak to his PO every now and then. This fuk thinks I ask too much. (That's whole story is way too long to go into). Another puke that occasionally works for me is a lifetime gangbanger and fried to the max pot head. How many of you libs have former murdering theives and current 15 year gangbanging veterans working for you? I'm gonna step out and say none. But I'm the heartless rich fuk that doesn't get what Democrats and Republicans are about. I can almost guarantee 95% of this forum couldn't hack a week of my work. I go through employees like shit through a goose. 3 puked in the last 4 weeks already this year. $100 a day cash. I'll take all comers.

The best part is I got money coming out of my ass on a daily basis and you guys want more.

I gave at the fuking office.

settle down IO. I am an entrepreneur myself, but I only have 3 plant guys, 2 sales and the secretary. They are good eggs, so we get along just fine. However, I feel the pain of endless fvcking taxes on everything I do. It is fvcking nonsense.

i would explain it, but the definition is bs these days anyway. the libertarian party is "conservative" the republican party is not, nor are the dems.

IO, we don't own a business, but my wife and i make too much money to deduct off of our taxes the interest payed on her student loans of 70K. ridiculous.

IO,

Is Stroger still running that county board....what a corpse......my time in chicago was spent covering as a reporter/editor in the western suburbs of riverside, brookfield, north riverside and other towns.....occassionally I had the pleasure of getting into the nitty gritty of cook county board politics. What a cluster**** and nobody is paying attention. The Trib and Sun Times consider it an afterthought, but there is enough government waste going on that board to fill the papers every day!!

Anyway, I used some of my "influence" to back a local candidate from Riverside and some others who wanted to break into that board and reform it. It was the 2003 election. A lot of them won, but they really weren't able to make any headway into all the waste on that board. I've been out of town and thus out of the loop for two years, so I have not been watching. But, I often wonder if that gang has had any luck reforming that board. The guy in my town was Anthony Peraica, a republican. Cant remember the other new guys names off hand, but it was across the poilitical specturm. If they all ended up as douches, then I am the fool for writing stories about a corrupt, careless and clueless board and penning a couple of editorials whose basic theme was vote any of the incumbents out in favor of new blood. I am sorry for that if that was the outcome. But, boy oh boy, did I take all sorts of heat and threats for writing some of that....lot of battle scars there, but i loved every minute of it....it was the essence of journalism

One other quick thought. Covered all sorts of boards and commissions out there in the burbs. They taxed and/or fee-ed the chit out of everyone on everything. And, by and large, these boards were controlled by republicans. My favorite was the guy in Riverside who voted against placing a police and fire levy initiative on the ballot, invoking the name of G.W. himself saying when our great president is setting the course of cutting taxes how can we raise them and be considered good Americans. Then, he basically led the charge for over year increasing fees and the costs of everything. I chuckled at your vehicle sticker fee because this guy wanted to triple vehicle sticker fees for anything with wheels. When I called him out for his anti-tax, yet stamp a fee on anything that moves philosophy in an editorial, he jumped between me and some guy I was interviewing for getting a good samaritan honor at that night's council meeting, got in my face and said I needed to go back to journalism school. Priceless.

My long winded point is, I dont know if anything will ever improve until the media types start reporting on issues with the people in mind, such as yourself, and start challenging some of these fools in power rather than trying to earn their good graces so they can become part of that inner circle. The corporate controlled, lazy, rather cover Brittany media is as much a problem as our politicians. They are the ones who have helped conjure up the demon imagies of liberalism and conservatism, thus prohbiting the best both those political theories have to offer from having a postive impacts of our soceity.

I knew you would eventually come around, Weasey.

Welcome to the fold!

P.S. As opposed to past efforts, please take the time to actually read the linked info.

i wish he was 50. by the time the dems get elected this time around - the country may be completely sick and ready for him. i wish he had a great shot @ 2008.

he is the only republican that is running that i feel is truly conservative.

as for government intruding into our lives, you are kidding, right? Having witnessed the LARGEST EXPANSION OF GOVERNMENT IN 50 YEARS UNDER BUSH, I would hope that you know how idiotically farcical it is to think that the republicans stand opposed to big government.

on that we agree E. I think that now more than anytime in my lifetime a 3rd party is a necessity. I am mostly a libertarian at heart, but align myself with the "left". I think there are alot of us who could get behind a candidate with integrity that can step outside of this tiresome liberal vs neocon bs.

Maybe we can get some input on the liberals agenda of change. Saw a couple in the headlines today and would be curious if any of you could inform the rest us which of these you'd rank most important and why.

Hey-hey, ho-ho, the Marines in Berkeley have got to go.
That's the message from the Berkeley City Council, which voted 6-3 Tuesday night to tell the U.S. Marines that its Shattuck Avenue recruiting station "is not welcome in the city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders."

In addition, the council voted to explore enforcing its law prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation against the Marines because of the military's don't ask, don't tell policy. And it officially encouraged the women's peace group Code Pink to impede the work of the Marines in the city by protesting in front of the station.

In a separate item, the council voted 8-1 to give Code Pink a designated parking space in front of the recruiting station once a week for six months and a free sound permit for protesting once a week from noon to 4 p.m.

Councilman Gordon Wozniak opposed both items.

The Marines have been in Berkeley for a little more than a year, having moved from Alameda in December of 2006. For about the past four months, Code Pink has been protesting in front of the station.

"I believe in the Code Pink cause. The Marines don't belong here, they shouldn't have come here, and they should leave," said Berkeley Mayor Tom Bates after votes were cast.

A Marines representative did not respond to requests for comment.

issues education/values-
Teachers in British schools are being advised by the government to avoid using the phrase "mom and dad" ? and not to assume children have heterosexual parents. It's part of a sweeping new anti-discrimination effort that was produced for the government by a gay rights group.

Other guidance includes familiarizing students as young as four with the idea of same-sex couples. When discussing marriage with older students ? teachers are to instruct about civil partnerships and gay adoption rights. Schools are to encourage gay role models among staff members. And children who use the word "gay" are to be treated the same as racists.

---and long these lines would you agree "fathers day" might be an offinesive term/holiday considering your voting block. Maybe change it to
"Grandparents Day"
duh excuse me-make that "Grand Persons Day" :)
