What to throw on the grill tonight???

The wife and I are about to head out to the zoo with the squid (2 year old son). It is a beautiful day in Fort Worth, TX and when we get back I am definitely cooking out this evening. Going to sit around the pool with a couple of good friends, an ice chest full of cold beer and grill and relax.
Was looking for what you guys had in mind to cook. I usually do a pork tenderloin and some shrimp skewers, but was thinking I might try something new and different this evening. Will do hot dogs for the "youngans" and probably put some corn on the cob and zucchini on the grill.
Anyway, I'll be back in a few hours and would love to see what you guys have in mind. Maybe a little instructions too if you don't mind.

grill veal chops, my favorite...marinate in olive oil, a little lea & perrins, salt, pepper and lots of lemon

try this when you grill your corn...

after soaking it in water for about 10 mins...salt and butter it on the cob along with a garlic salt and brown sugar...wrap each one in tin foil and grill for about 35 mins rotating them fairly often...

It's too damn cold and shitty here to even think of grilling... you guys are making my mouth water.

C-man... hope you enjoyed the zoo. I'm assuming it was the Fort Worth Zoo? I took my mom and stepdad there when I was living in D/FW. Awesome place.

Going with shrimp, pork chops, and I am going to try some salmon.

War- I am going to try your idea on the corn. I usually just do seasoning (Its called serendipity here), butter and garlic salt.

Jack- How do you do your scallops?

You guys have some great ideas, and by the way, we did have a great time at the zoo.

Bender-you made me spit out my first drink of beer damnit!!! (Grilled Elephant Tail doesn't sound too bad)

Prime Rib and shrimp for me


prime rib-rub with olive oil and put fresh black pepper, chopped garlic, worchestshire sauce, and parsley flakes. let marinate

put on grill on lower level on high heat to sear each side about 4 minutes, then move to top level and reduce heat to medium

cook about 10 more minutes each side for med. well. when done cover lower burner with aluminum foil and put on peeled shrimp (same marinade as above, w/o worchestshire sauce) and cook. Turn with plastic spatula, so don't rip up aluminum foil. Close lid so steak juices mix with shrimp.


I then put crumbled blue cheese or feta cheese on my steak, but to each his own.

Any special stuff on cooking hamburgers/steaks/brats/salmon would love to hear it

I'll tell you what......I finally picked up some of that Match-Light Kingsford, and you can stick the regular shit with the lighter fluid, right up yer ass!

That stuff really is ready to go in ten minutes, and there's no fukkin' around!
