My older brother had plenty vinyl LPs, I don't recall the first one I owned.

I do recall the first 45rpm I bought was this oldie!

my first CD, early 80s, was a poor transfer of Steely Dan album (a problem that plagued many early CD issues. Jimi Hendrix suffered a lot from this). My scratchy Steely Dan vinyl sounded alot better.

My first cassette musta been some disco thing to get the gals dancing at the parties (uh, that's the excuse anyway).

Vinyl..........Commodores....With Brick House ( Great Horn Section on this album )

Cassette......Billy Squire......Don't Say No ( The only cassette I played so much it just snapped one day )

CD........Cheap Trick.....Live At Budakon

And if anybody here plays guitar, check out this tune that you will never hear on the radio. This guys voice is incredible along with his lyrics. One of the best unknown bands I have ever come across. His lyrics song in and song out are something that just aren't commonplace and regurgitated drivel.

Anyway, if you care:

Took some time to think of it but....

KISS's "Rock n Roll Over" was the first album I ever bought.

Jimi Hendrix's "Band of Gypsies" was a close second.

As far as a cassette goes; Cheap Trick's "Live at Budokan".

First CD was easy to remember; Led Zeppelin II
