Box is he a big west dog, lol! j/k is the 1st time they were introduced at your house? many dogs are very aggresssive/territorial when a new pup/dog is introduced to them on "their" turf w/"their" family. we view dogs as our posession/family member etc....the dogs view us as theirs. Had a similar experience, I think the deafness probably has alot to do w/kobe/nemo/pinball not picking up the hint or being able to understand his place in the pack....might take a scrape ot 2 to establish the pack order, it's the nature of the beast, especially w/female being established 1st and kobe ,ets. not being able to pick up all the signals....make sure wash the wound out with hydrogen peroxide, at least once a day for a few days at least...dog/dog bite is same as human/human bite can lead to some infections if not cleaned properly... good luck in whatever you choose, do feel that no matter what you bring in, there will def. be a tussle or 2 to establish order, especially if they are introduced at your house first...

is kobe white, just amking the assumption on his deafness? one other quick point, he probably is assulting. trying to nump ner to establish his dominance and it sounds like she ain't dancing to that tune ,lol!! happens w/2 males as well, my boxer tried it on the cane corso until he was about 8 mos. old and gave him a quick snag on the hammy one time and the neck another before everything was established...

RAZ,thanks.Kobe-Pinball is white. He's 13 months old.We introduced the two of them down by the church on a neutral area.
When sasha growls or barks that a sign to go away or stop. But Kobe probaly understand the signs because of her deafness.
We have Kobe on a leash in the house and do tug on him.
I feel real bad.And this fight was a real one.Not just barking.Sasha was on top of her and wouldn't let Kobe up.Thank god no one got really hurt.We did clean the cut.
We'll see what happens tomr.I'm leaning on letting boxer rescue take her.My wife wants to wait.My kids want to kill me and are crying.Of course I'm the bad guy.

tough situation Box, have to balance alot there, especially w/kids.....the tussles are def. real, the deafness is probably adding as you stated, might take a while longer than usual to sink in, but once the order is established , it's good for awhile...but i can certainly understand your apprehension....best of luck w/whatever you choose....

I have a Maltese:shrug:
Actually, it's my wife's dog, but I just love throwing her 10ft in the air, scaring the livin' $hit out of her every time!:D :D :D My wife gets pissed at me of course.

Anyway, I'm considering a Jack Russell terrier. Seems like a smart dog..

Box

We just had this situation with our two cats. Everything was going good and all of a sudden they start fighting everytime they see each other. Not playing either.

So we go to the Vet and she suggests pheremones.

You get them at Pet Smart. You plug them into the wall and
it gives them a signal that everything is OK.

They cost like 30 bucks each. we got 3.

No more fighting! Not sure how but they work well. Vets put them in their lobby and kennels.

They have them for dogs too. Might be worth a try.

thanks Scot and Raz
Boxer rescue gave us some advice. We are going to keep them seperate for awhile.Let them see each other a liitle. But not play like we did.
I think some of it was our fault because we knew Sasha was such a great dog and this puppy was so innocent and wanted to play.
Also the deaf one hasn't humped anyone since Sasha put her down.So maybe the name Kobe is out of consideration.
I'm calling her Pinball wizard. thanks for the help..
