What's the best piece of "man" advice you've ever heard?

I mean something that's really stuck with you, no matter how strange it seemed at the time.

Mine was my first day in prison.

"Don't look down man, look up. If you walk like a b!%ch, you'll be one."

I've never forgotten those words. What I took from that was; you thought you were being a man and that's what got you here. Now you better walk like one or you won't be one for long.

Obviously, mine has a back story and I'm not planning on telling it here but I'm sure that we've all heard some words of wisdom. Please share yours, if you like.
