Go buy a starter $200 guitar. While you are there, sign up and pay for 6 months of lessons (one day a week). With your "schedule", you could get any time of the week that you want.

GardenWeasel - You could probably get sued for using it, but it'd look pretty cool in lights behind your band....especially when you bust out the electric ukelele solo.
We've got lots of time to get something put together. I think there is an infomercial for learning the guitar in just 7 minutes a day, or something like that. Make sure you tape all of your practice sessions.

The reviews on this guitar are horrendous!
You can get a decent Fender acoustic (Fenders are not exactly top notch in acoustic, but they will give you pretty true sound and hold their tone) for about $200. Go to a music shop and they will almost certainly have a Fender start set with soft case and such.
Then buy a tuner for $20-25.
It was a little bit more appropriate when I was 17 and full of angst . . . and aquanet
