Then why did he make multiple bets in various ways at different locations rather then make it simple and place all the bets at one time? Because he knew they wouldn't have accepted the bets, that's why.

Caesars Windsor got fined a large amount (I can't remember the number but it was big). It was all over the news and on Sports Talk radio for a couple days.

Just checked Caesars had to pay a 150 thousand dollar (Canadian funds) fine.

I hope they have to pay a fine in this case as well (if the guy is telling the truth).

I'm saying that if you're trying to "fly under the radar", you don't cash in hundreds of thousands in tickets.
Right! He could have and should have been smart about it. There are ways to do it.

But if he had made the bets at one time and they accepted the bets all at one time, they would have paid him.

Because of that stupid bullshit tax shit in the USA that is why he made them all small wagers
Maybe that's why he did it but that's another can of worms.

Same reason many others do, to avoid being tracked and to avoid eventually being banned for winning. No different from having somebody else place a wager for you, don't want to draw attention to yourself for winning.

Thousands of gamblers do this every single day, just because you want to avoid being tracked doesn't mean you are doing something wrong. As we all know, eventually you get banned for winning, and he wanted to avoid that (and avoid taxes) for as long as possible.

On the course!
I'm guessing in their long list of rules, they have covered themselves, or they would pay him.

I'm sure they have something along the lines of not making multiple wagers to circumvent the limits, etc.

Why pay tax when you don't have to pay tax....seems like a smart move to me
Yes! You have to pay the tax! Otherwise you are cheating the IRS. :kirby:

If he wants to be paid he should have been upfront about it and if he wins he pays the tax.

It's actually a simple game.

Right! He could have and should have been smart about it.

It most likely would not have made a difference, but yes it wasn't the smartest move to cash anything at the cashier. Now I have no clue what the kiosk limit is at the Caesars properties where he placed the parlays. But I know at any Caesars Windsor you can redeem any Sportsbook ticket up to 5 grand at any kiosk. The kiosk will give you a "receipt" and then you can go to one of the "automatic tellers" and the machine will give you cash.

Of course maybe different in Caesars in any USA location because of the taxes.

Point being, he could have kept everything "small" and just taken 5 grand at a time and he'd never see a human. But again. maybe that is not possible.

It all comes down to; they would not have accepted the bets and he knew it.

As stated in post 18....I completely disagree.

He didn't break any rules (I am believing what he said and don't think he's lying).

Caesars try to pull this shit in that case in Windsor I mentioned above, it didn't go so well for them. They also said that in that case in Michigan and they had to eventually pay up.

I hope you're right and I hope he gets paid.

But, I Bet he doesn't do it that way the next time.

Did I ever tell you how Caesars fucked me over for $5K? Well, they did.

The bets were accepted. Nothing else matters (unless he was actually banned from placing wagers at any Caesars property), he placed the bets, they were accepted and Caesars will have to pay eventually.

That is really what it all comes down to.

- He was of legal age
- He placed the wagers
- He won money
- Pay him

It will take a long time, but he'll get paid.

As for doing it "that way the next time", now that he's gone public, I am pretty sure he'll be banned from any Caesars property anywhere in the world for life. Yep, he won't be getting a loyalty rewards card from Caesars any time soon.:)

No I won't. I took it up with the pit boss and when that didn't work I took it up with his boss and when that didn't work I had them call the gambling commission and met with them as soon as they got there about an hour later. They took my statement and told me I would get their decision in the mail in about 30 days. I got their decision in 30 days and they sided with Caesars.
