Where is Area Code 408?

no not at all.
This is strange because earlier today i got a call from Area Code 702(Las vegas) saying this is the operator will you accept this phone call. I said who is this she said Las Vegas. I said fawk no and hung up. I figured it was a guy trying to sell picks and now this crap.
I know nobody from Vegas or Santa Clara. Is this a scam?
I didnt but who the fawk is calling me?
Should i call the number back and block my number?
If it was me I'd take the call........
Could be Jim Fiest with a late night pre-Thanksgiving Super Lock Game of the Day, play........
But then again I'm 8 beers deep & 4 bourbons......

You might be able to call your phone co. and see where the call originates. They may provide info.
This happened to me once and it turned out it was a payphone from prison. The inmates where looking for someone to listen to their story. The operator said there was nothing they could do and it would go away. It did.

I know exactly what this is... its from the website ip-relay.com someone is playing a prank on you. Its a service for the deaf to "talk" to people by typing to the operator. They have to type exactly what you say, so my buddies and I used to **** w/our coaches and such.
Well i do have a friend who went back to jail about a month ago but i heard he was in jail in this area. But 2 calls today one from vegas and one from Santa Clara seem strange..
Friday morning im going to the store and buy the biggest fawkin air horn i can. im tired of this crap. That goes for telemarketers also fawk em all i hope they an extra set of ears because i will blow the fawkin ears off em the first time..

tpaine is correct. its ip-relay and is use by deaf people. they type words and the operator reads them to you, then you say words to the operator and they type it for the deaf person. one of your friends is probably prank calling you, it's actually pretty funny to do, because the operator has to type or say whatever you tell them too. my buddies and i used to call each other and have the craziest conversations ever just to see if the operators would repeat what we were saying or typing, and to see if we could make them laugh. these operators are solid, they keep a serious tone for everything, but we did crack them up a time or two.
