I like the show 'Hoarders'. Reminds me of my youth. Inspires to to throw shit away. I've even planned a cleanup week for my mom's cluttered warehouse she calls a house.

Its on Channel 269 here and it replays at 11p.

That's Central time though Jackson, I mean here, where I live. Channel 40 sucks here. It doesn't have anything on. Maybe Direct TV has bigger plans for it sometime down the road. It is a pretty sweet channel, even though it has no programming on it.

Hope this helps,
FDC

He's no different from any antique dealer. They try to buy at a price to allow for a double-up in resale. He's a lot more fair than most jewelers. You know they're not losing money when they sell something at 70% off!

Pawn Stars is great.

Some schmoe comes in with a treasure from the 1700's, and that bald fuck ALWAYS "knows a guy" in Vegas who is an expert on whatever it is! :mj07:

Then, once the guy tells the owner of the shop and the potential seller that the item is worth "between $2500-$3500", the owner asks the guy what he wants for it?

The poor fuck says, "I'd like to get 'bout $1500...Two grand for it....."

Bald-ass says, "I can't give you more than a thousand for it."

:142smilie

"Hey, man........you got change for a dollar?"

"I can't give you more than fifty cents for that......"

:mj07:

What a fuckstick!

On the course!
hey it's a business! the fucksticks are the ones taking the deals on that! unless that is what you meant :toast:

Of course it's a business. It's just like cars sales: Fuck the person as bad as you can.....make THEM think that YOU are doing them a favor by being THIS generous.........and AFTER that sale, muttering to yourself, "I think I coulda done better with that hump!"

People wouldn't be in a pawn shop if they didn't need money, so that guy knows he's in the better spot. That's fine. But don't act like YOU'RE getting robbed every time you pay someone for something.

Somewhere in Corn Country
makes the show to me, chumlee is an idiot and comic relief

I thought that for most of season 1, but I now think that its all an act and that he really isn't as stupid as they make him out to be.

The old man is funnier than hell and Rick is a good negotiator....

Would love to have that barbers chair Rick had restored in my basement bar area...:00hour

chumlee looks like a buffoon, kinda like Mikey on American chopper  maybe its all an act, probably is

old man makes me laugh each episode, he has a really dry sense of humor, Rick is a master negotiator that is for sure.

I like Pawn Stars. They get some pretty interesting stuff come through there.

I learned some stuff about early American currency on that show. Thought it was interesting.

The antics get a little tired, though.

Channel 43 here :)

I don't understand this reasoning. there's nothing shady going on.

He brings in an "expert" and is very up-front with what it "could" fetch at an auction. Now if you want to go through that trouble, go ahead. But if you want some money for it now, I'm going to give you much less so I can make a profit.

Now I would agree that it was shady if he did not bring in a "neutral" third party to appraise it for them.

My guess is that if people don't take the offer, they will end up on Hoarders because no way they go and find a buyer on their own.

I like the show but just like the other fellas said it's the same thing...

Rick (to customer): Watcha got there bud?

Customer: It's a 1999 madjacksports t-shirt.

Rick: Can you tell me a little about it?

Customer: About 10 years ago I won a contest, and I got this shirt, it used to be gray and the logo was on but I haven't won shit since and I really would like to get rid of it.

Rick: You looking to pawn it or sell it?

Customer: Sell it. I'm broke

Rick (interview): I'd love to have this shirt, it reminds me of a simpler time when madjacks used to tear up the bookies. It appears to be authentic and if the logo doesn't completely fall off this shirt it could be worth a lot of money.

Rick(to customer): Well, before I make an offer on it I've got a guy that knows a lot more about this then me. I'll have him take a look at it..... (loud yell) FLETCHER get in here!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. Jack any new t's would be appreciated, i need a project fatass workout shirt.
