a little something i wanna share, just to remind people in this terrible situation that is PSU football, that sometimes good does prevail, and the right thing is done...
my dad was a 3rd grade teacher for 23 years up until 2008...
for the last 6 years of that, he was also the union president representing the teachers in all things they were involved with...he had a good relationship with everyone, including the administration....
well, in march of 2008, all of that changed. the teachers had come to him claiming they wanted to file a vote of no confidence in the administration, and they wanted him to present it at the board meeting which was the next night. of course, he had no problems with it, and did exactly what they had asked.....
2 weeks after he had presented the board with the teachers decision, he received a letter saying he was being terminated for sexual assault on 3 teachers from his builiding. (one was the principals daughter, and one was the superintendants friend, so that we understood, but one was a close family friend who apparently became corrupt :shrug: )..
of course, the administration was furious about what happened at the previous board meeting, and my dad was the one they targeted for it...
3 years later after court cases, my family filiing bankrupt, my entire small town talking miserable, and so much more i couldnt even begin to tell you that this has caused my family, the board had decided to appeal the decision again for the 3rd time, in which every ruling was that my dad was innocent of all charges, and was to be reinstated immediatley. of course the board wasnt going to accept it and continued to appeal, and appeal, and appeal (next step was to go to the federal courtroom because the state labor board can only take so many appeals before it goes to the big boys)...
all that changed today...my dad just got notified of the good news!!
HE WAS JUST CALLED BY HIS ATTORNY AND TOLD THAT THE SCHOOL BOARD HAD OFFERED A SETTLEMENT OF 1.4 MILLION DOLLARS FOR ALL OF THIS BULLSHIT INCLUDING FULL BENEFITS AND RETIREMENT, STARTING TODAY!!!!
it was all bullshit, and for the record this is all public knowledge after the court documents were released, and my dad was terminated for the following things he said to female staff:
after a female coworker showed off her engagment ring, and made the comment, "he loves me for some reason, and i can tell ya its not because i am a good cook"
my dad replied:
"that is a huge engagement ring, you must do something right to keep him happy"
after a female staff made the statement of looking terrible in her outfit because green wasnt her color, he said
"of course you look good in green, that i can assure you".
and this last one was probably not appropriate, but it was with the teacher who had been to my house 2000 times and was a freind of the entire families for nearly 20 years...i had gotten drunk with this women when i was 20 yrs old and she had asked me things like if she was a "milf", just to make you aware of the relationship my dad had with this lady.. (at the time)..
she was going to dallas, and made a comment about not wanting to do anything stupid down there because she enjoyed her boze...
he said
"yea we dont want you becoming the next debbie does dallas",
because like i said, the co-worker was going to dallas...
these things were said from inbetween 2years and 6 months previous of when they decided to terminate him:shrug:
it was a pure case of a witchhunt in which they were just trying to fire the man who had made the voices of the teachers known to the public...
