Why didn't Cleveland go for 2?

Between The Hedges
No doubt that in "theory" it was the right call to take the PAT. What the chart does not take into account are the other variables such as flow of game and total points scored. Who hasn't laid down a huge poker hand because of variables other than the cards you are holding:shrug: The numbers say over time your hand is a winner, but you know in this particular case the risk isn't worth the reward for any number of reasons. Baseball managers hide behind the "percentage play" moves all the time. Not saying there is anything wrong with it as statistics obviously speak for themselves, but trusting your gut and understanding the fluid nature of any given game is the mark of a good coach in my opinion.

UGA 12... exactly. I thought that was a no-brainer for Cleveland to go for 2 there. And believe me, I can't stand when coaches go for 2 wayy to early in games. Points were tough to come by and they couldn't afford to be beaten by 1 score. They couldn't dream up another FG for themselves scenario.

The poker analogy rings so true. I can't tell you how many people I saw get busted at the WSOP after making the "right" play.

Where it is real F ing COLD
Doesn't surprise me how anemic the offense is. Did I mention that Brad Childress is the offensive coordinator. No doubt you go for two there. You have scored only 9 points on offense and there was no telling if they would ever get into scoring position again. I was glad they didn't, had the Eagles on a 10 point teaser.. Sweat that out..
