Why is this site so slow for me lately??

I almost started a thread with this same theme a few days ago. The site is ok right now, but sometimes, it's very slow even when other sites I visit are their normal speed.

In the future, Jack, how would you like us to alert you to these problems? Post here in general? Email? Thanks.

either here or email if you can't access the site. i usually know but sometimes there are isolated problems that i don't know about. this time everybody was having problems i think.

Working fine for me at the moment, but have been having problems on and off with VERY slow loading for the past couple of weeks or so.
