Majority opinion is often a matter of insufficient information and emotion in place of reasoned thought.

Majority opinion is nothing more than mob rule.

It's no way to run a country.
Damn Duff...

Duff - it's funny how you mention "Mob rule", and that is no way to run a country.

Chicago style politics, with threats and coercion by our current federal government, is exactly how our country is being run today.

And I do agree with you - this is no way to run a country.

If a company or industry even tries to speak out and not agree with the president (banks/insurance, etc), they get threatened and coerced into silence.

Feels a lot like Cuba, and some of the old communist regime's in Europe, to me.

Nice, Mags, nice. You can duck and dodge like a fundamentalist pentecostal preacher.

Having someone go rogue, and implement anything that is outside of the majority of the country's interests based on consistent and widespread polling, isn't the right thing to do - it is just being a dictator.
Dick Cheney disagrees with you... :look:

So far in this thread, you've compared the Obama Administration to...

1. Greece
2. Cuba
3. Old communist regimes in Europe

You left out...

4. Nazi Germany
5. Maoist China
6. Pinochet's Chile
7. Ceausescu's Romania
8. Mussolini's Italy
9. Franco's Spain
10. Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge
11. Duvalier's Haiti
12. Jong-Il's North Korea

I realize some of those fall under your #3. Just trying to help clarify... :0008
