Will ILLINOIS make the Final 4?

Ask yourself what an 80 year olds junk smells like.

Depends

That is your answer. It depends on what region they get and who the 2 thru 5 seeds are. If they catch a michigan state or a georgia tech in the sweet 16 or 8 or a florida etc they can be had.

If they get the #1 in the Midwest, they woul play in Chicago in round 1, St Louis round 2 and the Final Four in Indy. easy travel for the Orange Crush.

guards? wasnt that the argument about St Joe's last year?

Well, unfortunately, St Joe's didn't quite have the same talent in the frontcourt that Illinois has. 'Slight' difference between the two teams.

actually illinois will be playing in indy then chicago then st louis

as for unc...they still play no defense....not sure why everybody just puts them on a pedestal as a great team, or lock to make it to the final 4...i can think of many better TEAMS that could beat them in the tourney

What are the chances UNC, Illinois, Wake Forest and Kansas all get #1 seeds?

I have all 4 to win it all and maybe I can luck out and have them all in the final four! :)

In the tourney any team could get upset. Everyone knows that. That is what is great about it. Its all about probabilities and I do not think there are many teams that could upset Illinois. Therefore its a high prob. IMO that Illinois reaches the elite 8. Maybe a small chance of an upset at sweet 16. Remember, Illinois wouldn't be playing ANY #1 seed unless they reached final 4.

I'm not sure how you can say "they still play no defense". It is innacurate to look at the PPG that UNC gives up and equate that to bad defense. Teams average many, many more posessions against Carolina because of the uptempo game the heels play, which = more points.

So what would be more accurate to assess their defense besides PPG? Well, how's about what shooting % they hold teams to and defensive rebounds, two very important aspects of defense and a good indication of team defense.

UNC Defensive Stats:

Field Goal % 39.7 National Rank: 24
Rebounds/G 25.7 National Rank: 6

I would say that is pretty good...a little too good for you to say "plays no defense".

Not to mention teams shoot an astounding Free Throw % of 71.9 against UNC, a rank 294th....pretty much higher against UNC than any other team in the nation. That's due to teams stepping up their play against the heels.

You either have not watched many of their games, or are basing it on a lack of knowledge on how to assess defense.
