My wife did something to her laptop and this is how her screen looks. This is her FB page. What did she do and how do I fix it?

OK Jack looks like somehow the pixels setting was screwed up.

in other words she has it set way too high and all windows will look like that pic you posted.

IF not then it's just the facebook page thats screwy which can happen on any website.

But defintely tell her to reset her lap top to it's default settings then reboot and it will be fine

from what I have heard/read ... Windows 8 is turrible
I just built a machine and decided to try it out. It's so fast and stable. Bootups are instant. No crashes yet.
The 'apps' are kinda hit or miss on a desktop, so i default to the classic desktop more often than not.

And example of the speed, it installed on a new computer in 15 minutes.

On the course!
Windows 8 is meant for touch screen systems and not mouse systems. That's why it "sucks" to so many people.

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
If you have Windows 8, but want the old Start menu and Start button, there are some free and easy programs to restore these to your Windows 8 screen, get rid of those touch tiles on the start up screen.

I did notice the latest Dell catalog shows all their laptops come installed with Windows 8, but in the list of "Recommended upgrade" to most of them is a downgrade to Windows 7 Professional...ok, asked my geek buddies and they say this Dell recommendation is mostly for businesses who don't want to spend the money training employees on new workstations, and various incompatibility issues with legacy software....

I've put it on every baby boomer windows 8 machine I've worked on and it has been a god send for those that fear change.

The pre installed email app on windows 8 is a piece of shit and I almost feel bad for saying that because there are pieces of shit in the world that are better than this email app

I went to http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/ and it has worked just fine

Getting used to closing the apps by pulling down from the top takes some getting used to

Also from the start page - you can just start typing to begin a search - Useful for getting to the control panel quickly

Dunc - I'll help you get it back to the Windows 7 feel when you get the new comp

On 8.1 hitting the start/windows button on your keyboard toggles it to the familiar desktop instantly
