Sorry...just saw this thread.....what are you looking to spend? Occasion? Value? One for everyday value get Columbia Crest Grand Estates (8.99/bottle here in GA) for Cabs, Merlots. Excellent Value. Let me know your range.....

toast- C.C. has good Chard as well. Get it at Green's on Ponce or Buford Hw.....or, go to Tower on Piedmont or Buford.....Meridian is decent Chard as well for under 10 bucks...Lindemans Bin 60 is also a lesser expensive wine. I have small vineyard wines from Cali that aren't sold here in GA and get it there and ship back 5-6 times a year. Ever want to try one let me know. These are 15-30 a bottle, but well worth it for the juice. We can meet out anytime...need to meet at Chris Hintons wine store in Alpharetta for his tastings...:mj06: always good and fun. He is former Pro Bowl O-tackle from Colts and Falcons and a friend for 15 years

Gnarly Head and Dancing Bull have some good $10 zins. They used to be $6 and I've tried to find some good new $6 wines, but all I've gotten is bad hangovers.

I'm in East Cherokee, very close to Alpharetta. Me and the wife would love to go to a tasting. I'm the occasional wine drinker(more beer), she on the other hand is all about it.

Columbia Crest :wtf:

You've got to be kidding me, might as well be drinking Nighttrain or Boone's...

Try Rodney Strong, they make a real good Merlot. If you're looking for a good Chardonnay try Sonoma-Loeb, it's very good.

Hey Jon kniefl mutherfawker,

You brought it on, I must respond. Not comparing Two Vines CC to Grand Estates CC ya dickwad. 5 bucks vs. 10 bucks. You want to do some single vineyard tastings and compare? Show up at the golf outing. Would love to test your fawking pallet as you spew so confidently against my opinion in hawkeyes thread. He asked for opinion, I responded. Mass availability vs. limited releases is what I based it on.

http://www.columbia-crest.com/vineyards_milestones.cfm

Their wines overall are very respectable.

I will give you other opinions, hawkeye, if you wish, as well as good values in your price range now that I am home from travelling.

Kniefl, fawk you ......go ahead and ban me a few days Jack, I deserve it

Such hostility:142smilie :142smilie

I don't even drink that much wine. Sometimes (Rarely) with a very nice dinner. My wife does though (being European) and she buys some pretty good ones. I know Columbia Crest is not in that Category. I checked our wine rack for some of the better ones she enjoys the most (which are affordable, $15-$20 range). Just trying to contribute to the thread and you get all bent out of shape.

Ever thought about anger management?

I'm with Wineguy - abrasive replys do not nec = a contribution, and kneifl has no idea what he's talking about - CC GE generally known as a great value under $10 with Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate scores (esp for the merlot and chard) consistently in the 89 point range

Sonoma-Loeb Chard takes you into 25-30 dollar Chards.......opening up a completely different selection to choose from.

Agree with Bobby that Rancho Zabaco Dancing Bull makes a good value Zin and has been for last 10 years it seems. It did used to be 6 bucks, but now they sell for just under 10 bucks, still a good bargain
