does VP pay out better than slots
What makes the video poker and the slot machine differ from each other is the random numbers generated within them. The program for the RNG of the slot machine is designed so that the machine pays out a percentage of the amount of money that runs through it at a certain percentage which is usually about 83% to 97%. The amount of money is known as the payback percentage determined solely by the program of the random number generator. It is impossible to determine the payout percentage of a slot machine by merely looking at it. It would probably take hundreds of thousands of trial and error to figure it out.
The random number generator on a video poker machine is another story. It replicates a deck of 52 or, in some other poker variation, of 53 playing cards. The video poker machine has the same odds of getting the same card as an actual dealer dealing from an actual deck of cards. Because a player can mathematically figure out the odds of getting each hand and because the payouts are determined by the hand the player receives, a player can somewhat estimate the payback percentage of a video poker machine quite easily.
It is also because of the difference in which the random number generator produces the outcome of the player that we can tell the other differences of the slot and video poker machines.

  • The casino can change the payout schedule of a video poker machine to change its payout percentage. On a slot machine, its RNG has to completely reprogrammed.
  • A video poker machine with the right payout schedule generally receives a positive expectation as compared to the slot machine that always receives negative expectation.
  • With the right strategy and a good play, a video poker machine can have a payout percentage from 97% upwards. A slot machine can have a payout schedule beginning from 91% upwards.
  • There are no skills needed on a slot machine. A player needs to be skilled in playing a video poker machine.
When you are in a casino and want to play either a slot machine or a poker machine, you can have a grasp of what both machines can offer you. You would probably see more players sitting in front of a video poker machine than on the slots. Making decisions is a lot more fun than watching meaningless reels spinning on the monitor.

it is absolutely true that VP players generally receive fewer comps and other valuable offers. among VP players, those who play less than full pay games or those who play more volatile games (like double double bonus or triple double bonus) or those who have demonstrated big losses will receive more comps than those who don't.
but most casinos, including those run by caesars entertainment, have a standard formula for awarding of reward credits; VP players generally earn at half the rate of slot players. at CZR casinos, that means 1 point for every 10 dollars coin-through.
as for volatility, jacks or better is the least volatile - and also the most boring - of all VP games. but even playing jacks, there is no guarantee that you will walk away a winner. the longterm expected return includes the royal at 4000 coins and quads at 125 coins. if you go through a quad drought and don't hit a royal, you're most likely going to lose.
as for perfect strategy, even those who know perfect strategy, don't play with perfect strategy. we're human beings and we make mistakes because we're tired or drunk or bored. if you play so-called "full pay" games with less than perfect strategy, you will shave a point or more of the machine's return during your play. but - for jacks - that's still a 97% game, which is far and away better than any slot machine you'll find on the floor.
that being said, in answer to your original question, i think many slot machines are actually less volatile than video poker... in the sense that many slot machines have a higher hit frequency (not payback, but hit frequency).
i have always considered myself primarily a VP payer, but there's no denying i have played a heck of a lot of slots the past couple of years. and for the past several months, i have had some very big wins playing slots. and then i invariably would return to my roots and play extended sessions of video poker and lose, lose, lose.
that's not the way it's "supposed" to work, of course. i'm playing 87% slots and winning a bundle... and then paying 98% video poker and losing my shirt... and also my underwear.
switching to video poker is no guarantee of success. most people who play VP lose most of the time. but you will probably be able to lose less - hang on to more of your bankroll - over the longterm by switching to VP.

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Video is a joke ....but i agree these pa casinos slots pay out lowest % ever and like others said flashing bells and whistles BIG win $10,00 ,,,,,,,,

Atlantic city still pay out best becauses it's ruled by state thier overall floor take is 18 cents on the dollar ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,one thing he said in video does work play late nights after all the losers dumped millions in i found that very succesful i just picked a spot here and there ran the whole row one quarter in each slot when i was done i collected winnings went to another row.

BUT now it's all bills only to go in and to get the whole row alone in a pa casino is like asking christ to come down and put up an invisble barrier so no one else can get in...

Heres how TO play slots 1st off play the ones with only 20 or 30 lines max YOU do not need 50 or 100 line machines to win...

Play within your bank roll 5% per spin

soon as you start you will know if machine is going to hit .......... use the 5 pull method

and see how many spins go after each hit ...

also you want hit's to be wins not a 5 cent win and your playing 40 cents per spin

losing 35 cents every spin will empty your credits faster

I want my hits at laest once in every 5 spins and once in every 10 spins soon as i go past 10 spins without a win byev bhye cash out take whatsb left walk around find a machine you like ...

Also i never squeeze in a row if theres only 1 seat and i'm middled with 3 people on each side i get that trapped feeling and sure enough because that fucking machine is open it's ice cold

other things you should try is focus on magnetic forces in our universe think about winning money quietly do it while sitting at the machine it's very well proven to work .....

NOT witch craft or wicca devil worship these are the forces that control our lives it's why some days your energy levels are low and u fell like shit all day .....then nnext day you wanna go out and conquer the world.

YES it's also your Biorhythms which start the day you were born ...

in short don't rush to play slots take your time walk around get a feel for the area wtf they are open 24/7 so whats your rush?

I never quit playing even if i have only $5 left i go try make a comeback many times i did win back evry thing plus $50 ....

BUT as i said these PA casinos stink high level craps tables weekdays... $15 minum $25 minum

nahhhhhhhhhhhhh $10 min is high when you think ten + odds in back just double odds thats $30 per shooter just flat bet pass line or dont pass line no field bets or come bets or any other BS

Thats all i can play any more there is NO 7 stud poker as years ago ...

I refuse to play holdem where i can hold AA 10 times in a row and lose every hand because two others are in with A K and A J

your two cards in hand mean nothing when every one shares 5 common cards..

any Pocket pair can rip apart AK

I dont care how good you think you are at holdem because the luck factor is way over any other form of gambling in any poker game .

7 stud you decide to play after 5 cards or can fold without drawing at laest you can see part of each persons hand in game in Holdem everyone sees at laest 4 of your cards on board

it's like playing bingo he who gets luckiest wins !

Skill level in holdem is knowing who you can bluff and at our level the low limit players aint budging ............. All in holdem you can make moves as long as you got the stacks to destroy others ...

but i seen that backfire millions of times even at WSOP

worse thing ever happened when holdem became dominant choice

put me in loose low limit 7 stud game any day of the week ...

:nono:

Casino poker rooms killed 7 card stud....not enough rakes per hour. I can see a day with zero poker rooms......no staff, fill space with slots....they don't complain, take vacations, need breaks.

I dealt poker for about 6 months 10 years ago, if 7 card stud is
played till completion with table participating, maybe
20 hands get a casino rake pull an hour.

Hold-em is so fast and furious, a good dealer gets near 40+ hands....thats a lot of house rake.

I agree, hold-em is a luck based game, more so than people that swear by it will admit.

Finding casino seven card stud anymore is near impossible.

Suncoast in Vegas had a good $2-$10 high-low stud game one day a week, it was the only one I could find in Vegas. The average age of the players at the table was 65+.

aaaaah dead money ty for explaining why 7 stud is gone only game i get to play is combo hi low omaha and hi low 7 stud $6 and $12 limits which is pretty steep rule of thumb is 30 max bets as starting bank $360 to survive through the bad beats

SO i can win at carps consistently never touching dice let shooters remain in thier rhythm and have to start trekiing to ac more often to get better comps and better pay out % on slots cheapest way which i hate is greyhound bus leaves every hour or 2 hours after 2 am

NO matter win or lose i want to leave soon as i am done not have to wait an hour for fuggin bus ....that drops me off a mile away from home...

at 4 am in morning there aint no public transportation running ............. but i could park my car there where no meters are around and have it to drive home...

fuck fuck fuck todays casino gambling ain't what it was years ago holdem all in every limit $1- $3 max buy in $300 limit holdem is better i can win that all in i get busted out by lucky ass bad players every time... A 10 suited pops trip 10's on flop 10 10 Q one caller comes back over me all in for extra $1000 HE has JQ unsuited

turn card J river J moderrrrrrrrrr fuger i scream really;;;; security comes over and tells me to control my cursing ......... wind up after break busted out in 50th place out of 100 and that pos still gets to play with my 11 K padded off to bed after tapping out on table

Holem yeah HOLD my dick n strat jacking off cause it feels better when you lose to rags QJ or Q 9 :mj07:
