Golden Corral (Steak on the buffet is hard to beat)
Valentinos Pizza (It is a Nebraska thning)
Sonic (the food quality ain't great, but anyone that puts chili on a burger or chili cheese tots is cool in my book)




Worst:

TGI Fridays (I don't know how they stay in business)
Craplebees (not far behind)
Olive Garden ( I would rather eat Chef Boyardee)
Texas Road House (no flavor to their meat at all)
Bonanza
Hooters ( I would rather look at maxim and eat KFC's hot wings and pull on my johnson than have those silicone cake-faced sluts feed me hash and try sitting on my lap)
Pizza Hut
Salsaritas (that my friends is not a good burrito)

Chili's hit and miss for me
Ruby Tuesday ok, depends on where

First of all there are so many of these places I've never heard of here in NY,NJ,Pa,Conn...
I agree with the Applebee's,etc that are bad.
My daughter worked for Red Lobster in Austin for 2 yrs.everything they cook is pre-done already. They "mic" most of it except there fresh fish for the day.

But the best place or food chain..hands down...and only because I miss it and we have none here in the east is.....

The Sonic...I love that place. Doublecheeze burgers,chile,foot long cheeze coney,frito pies,tater tots. Sonic burger No 1 or 2 or 3 or 4. My wife growing up in Paris, Texas with her long legs rollerskated there as a waitress all through high school.
I see those Sonic commercials on TV everyday.And I don't understand why. Why are there Sonic adds on my TV,both locally and national.It makes no sense. My high school has 1,200 kids.If I asked them "what is the sonic" 1,100 would have no idea. Yet on ESPN,CBS,NBC,etc you see the adds. Can someone explain why they do that.

Another fast food place I miss big time is...I know Madjack might ban me from this forum or close it down is...
Jack in the Box....I love those greasy tacos.They have the super taco..ahhh. I miss those so much.

Best fast food here in the east is..and I don't think one person listed it is...
White Castle....ahhhh. what great hamburgers
Of course zan tac,pepto bismal,amodiam and few more over the counter stomach drugs make the after effects better...
But White Castle....I'm salivating as I write this...

my fav is small chain called Rafferties--most probably never heard of it--food consistant regardless which one you go to--prices modest--and big portions--you don't leave hungry.

my fav food is seafood--while I have no bitch on quality of fod @ Red Lobster my german heritage (thrify) will not allow me to spend $30 and leave hungry--when I can stop at any of 5 or 6 local Chinese buffets and eat all the crab-shrimp-frog legs-oysters ect I want for $10.
---however my fav seafood place is in Destin Fla called Bayou Bill's
--eat same thing every time--3 appetisers--crab claws-sauteed alligator-and crawfish (just meat no shells) about $30 but well worth it--

how in god's name is the olive garden still in business? What the hell is wrong with people in this country? These crappy restaurants advertise like crazy w/ catchy jingles and then people line up to pay 10 bucks for frozen food on a plate. I cannot think of a single thing i would eat o.g., it makes me want to vomit just thinking a/b it. Applebees, chilis, and fridays aren't far behind. If you want frozen food that will kill you, get a 3.99 combo and save the tip from the pimply faced chick with WAY too many buttons on her shirt.

Applebees & Hooters both suck IMO. I'd honestly rather have McDonald's than either of those two. An you would cut the bill by 2/3 or more. The ambiance at Hooters is nice, tho, of course. Ruths Cris is excellent.

Have to agree with Cheesecake Factory being excellent.

Also a chain here in California and I think now in Arizona is Claim Jumper great food and big big portions, Excellent.

For a national chain I think Chili's is very good.

PF Changs for Chinese food also very good.

Needless to say all the big Steakhouse chains are excellent, Mortons, Lawry's, but not big on Ruth Chris, bad experience in their San Diego Rest.

I'm for real about White castles. They were the 1st fast food hamburger place growing up in the late 50's and 60's. On Fordham Road in the Bronx,across the street from Fordham Univ and right next to Teddy Roosvelt HS was one of the 1st ones in NYC. It was the 1st place that had french fries...hamburgers,etc. We were all brought up on White Castle.When they opened you could drive your car into the lot and there were poles with speakers. You could order and someone would come out and deliver your food.Like the Sonic of today. But that lasted only a few years.I think a waitress never came back from an order and they stopped that. But today you can still see the poles where the speakers were once set up.
There is no in between with White Castle. You either love them or hate them.I love them. I remember them being 8 cents or 10 cents a piece.They go down easy...with the avg person eating about 6-10.
But you pay a price..oh my god
I told this story before a few years back here.
My team is playing a team from NYC [Manhattan Center HS] the old Ben Franklin HS. I have a blue chipper and that was his old school where his parents lived near 125th street. the MC coached convinced me to play a non-league game at his place so his family and friends could see him play. Tom Konchowski the best HS scout in the country also convinced me..so he could see my kid play vs a NYC power house team.
Well lets forget the game..This team had 2 D-1 players and they scored 13 pts before i called a timeout. i was bombshelled.The score board lites were busted.I had to ask the scorekeeper what the score was. I remember it was 6-4 and then 19-4.We did come back in the 2nd half but still lost by 20. My kid did shine though and outplay everyone.In Konchowski report he had Latener who went to duke No 1 in NY State and my kid No 2.
But what happened after was the real story. On the way home our bus driver "Sarge" who was already pissed because he had to drive our yellow school bus around the block for 2 hours. The ath dir of MC said "you can't park a yellow school bus here in Harlem for 2 hours.it won't be here when the game is over. our teams travel thru the subway. So Sarge had to drive around the block for 2 hours. Now sarge is black, weighs about 250 pounds and has two sons who are NY State troopers. He takes shit from no one... but he's pissed...the game is over...
We are on the NY State thruway coming home..we have to eat..Micky D's Burger King,etc. I see a White Castles and ask the kids "how about WC's. Well my whole team goes crazy. There all from NYC and love the castle.Each player eats about a dozen or so.I do have a few kds that are 6'9,6'7 and 6'6.They eat 2 dozen each.....we finish..get on the bus...we have another hour to get home...well about a half hour away.. the farts are coming...oh my god...it was like being in a cess pool. Everyone is opening the windows on the bus. Sarge is cursing like crazy. The temperture out side is about 5 degrees with a wind chill of minus 15..Even the cold air isn't helping....
We pull into the school and I'm still laughing and kids are still farting. sarge says he will never go to a White castle again...
About a month ago we had a get together with all our staff from my old school. We had about 45 teachers,coaches and staff there. And at some point with Sarge sitting at the end of a table everyones drinking.....someone yelled Box.. tell us about the nite Manhattan Center"whipped your ass".
Sarge looked up and smiled. " Those bastards cut the cheeze the whole way home. We all laughed.
People always ask me " Box,do you miss coaching". I say no but I miss things like this..
Sorry for the long ass story.But will always remember those belly busters
