the field will be cut to 1/3

there are 3 day 1 starts with 2200 in each. they hope to cut each day down from 2200 to 500-700. see what happens. they start at 11am and could play until 2am or 3am depending.

now i hear they might consider making the field cutoff at 8800 if they have the interest. thus, making (4) day 1 days and (2) day 2 days. wow!

the odds may be a joke but if you were booking the action, what would you make the odds?

500/1, 1000/1?

gimme 10 bucks on seidel, fischman and tomko at those odds. throw in harrington, jesus, juanda, men the master and phan and let's have some fun action.

know what i mean?

thats the point of this board jack. nothing wrong with books having these odds. there job is to make money. they can do whatever they want. we the consumer have a right to say the odds suck and that's what message boards like this are about. i still stand by my statement the odds suck which they do. they are nowhere near the true odds. i'm just voicing an opinion. the books did nothing wrong, but if we as a collective group at madjacks are supposed to give advice, then my advice is you are wasting your money at these odds. no book did anything wrong and no one wagering on them for fun did nothing wrong. But for anyone to say these odds are accurate or true odds is false.

hope you make the final table

Anyway, gl with your plays penguin and if you are playing in it this year, hope you jack and bound are sitting there in mj's gear.

I won't be there, way out of my price/skill level brother.

I see exactly what you are saying.

i was just giving my opinion as well and asking at the same time. what should the odds be? no intentions of arguing whatsoever. i always respect your opinion and others' as well.

i won't be betting at the posted odds either. they're a jopke :D

but....at 500/1 or 1000/1 i'll be there.

to make the final table, I'd look at it like this. 6600 players. Odd of making final 10, lets say, to keep the numbers simple. 1 in 660 for everyone. Ok, now let's say that Lederer, Hansen, Hellmuth, and the like are three to four times more likely to make the final table as MJ, or Boundbook, or Arrow, or myself even. which I believe is a stretch, not sure about BB, but I've played with Jack, and Arrow and they aren't going to give it away. That would put them at 150 to 200 to 1 to make it. And, also, the final table is nine, not ten, so the numbers would be a little worse yet. a 6600 player field with at least 2/3 coming from internet qualifiers. Combine that with it being NLHE. Pressure will be on everyone. Everyone will be nervous. And 1 bad beat or 1 mistake over the course of a week could send you to the rail. For anyone to be 50-1 is insane. If I were booking it, I'd say 100-1 on the big names
would be good enough for me to profit. Hope this makes sense. I still hope to be playing, instead of looking for updates on the net. Gl to all who make the trek.

for any value whatsoever, look for some long-time pros who fly under the radar, Chris Bjorin, Hasan Habib, Tuna Lund, Tom McEvoy, or someone who you know will only be eliminated by bad luck, ie Sklansky, Tomko, or, just a guy I have a feeling about, not sure why, Lee Watkinson. He very rarely makes a mistake, and many have never even heard of him, he is kind of a dick, though. I've played with him. I'm sure I'll pick out a few and see what happens just for fun.

Anyone interested in a fantasy pool for the main event, think it'd be kinda fun.
