Ronnie,seriously this does improve them,but do you think it puts them over the top?
Just curious what your take is on it.
I think there still looking up at the 2teams in this division.
Lets put it this way,high stakes can create alot of pressure to win ,and if they dont:scared
is this your honest opinion or your opninion looking thru rose-colored glasses........and 3rd place behind who the blue jays and the o's.......IMO i know u didn't ask me but I think TB is detriot of a couple years ago a fraud and the sox are gonna struggle without manny for a whole plus papi is not the same they still don't have catcher and I REALLY hope they keep tek he is done ..........so division is up for grabs unless sox sign schilling again:mj07:
I'm not sure the players they signed will win them a championship but it'll definitely help. That lineup is disgusting no matter how you stack it. I agree with Giambi about the Devil Rays. They are one and done. Nice year but they'll be back to normal this year. As for the Sox, they should have signed Texeira as they haven't really made any moves this offseason. Not sure what they are waiting for.:shrug:
I agree,Sox basicly can be patient,cause there built on farm system ,which is loaded with talent.
There not gonna spend crazy esp. since how things went with Manny.
The Sox really are all set there already contenders .No sense of Panic on there part.
They do need another bat in lineup .
Think they will PU soon(Dunn,Abreu are possabilities.There pitching for most part is solid.
(new additions of Penny and the newest Japanese signing).They do need a starting catcher(they did sign Bard as back up.
As far as Tampa goes .I thought same thing ,but taking a closer look they pretty much come back intact and sorry for both NY and Boston should be contenders this year barring key injuries.

I see a team spending like crazy,with no real plan.
Tex. was there best signing.Playing in NY is not Milwaukee.And Burnett,well look at his career stats.A strikeout pitcher ,with a unproven W-L record.
Its been proven that money cannot win championships(Redskins,Rangers,Yankees,yes the Yankees,even this years Jets in a salary cap era could be thrown in there,etc).
Plus im not sold on Girardi in anyway.
Like Ronnie said there gonna live or die on there stacked line-up,were even with the FA signings of the 2pithcers they will continue to struggle.
And like I said there looking up at not 1 but 2 teams ahead of them in division.

Last year Detriot spent,spent,spent.
Where did it get them.Nowhere.
The Sox have been quiet,but they should be.
There line up is pretty solid ,for the most part.
And pitching is there strenght.
They should add a free agent bat soon.
Who and when probably should find out this month.

First I have to say please use spell check or at least proof read you stuff.............Secondly I really don't want to get into it with you because I can see your thinking.....(rose colored glasses are still on) you do realize the red sox are one of the big spenders too..............did they not outbid the yanks for dice k ................they have spent a lot of money and they did win a ring by spending......... now they are trying not to spend but they have in the past........and spending doesn't promise anything but it doesn't hurt your chances....as for the AL east you never know the O's could win it this year, everyone is even right now...... who would of guessed the rays would have won it last year ....I would of laughed in your face if you would of said that before last season
Dont see the reason for personal attacks.
Odviously they spend,but if you take a closer look at there organization ,they have drafted and built there minor league better than most franchises.
I could name players,but do some research on the web and you will see what I mean.The Y ankees just outrageously spent over 400million+ on wing and pray that that will bring them over the top.
The RedSox would never do that.Cut and Dry.
That would be an insult to the fans.
The Yanks better hope this works,cause if it dont:scared .Playing in NY is not easy,why do you think CC got all he could before agreeing.
Dont think barring injuries that the Sox wont win 90+ this season.Your only fooling yourself if you dont.

I wouldn't say Tampa is a fraud. Not with their pitching and a full season of Price. Plus players like Upton and Longoria are only going to get better. Still, tough division and probably will take a step back.
